Just read the forum for eight hours straight!

Hi guys,

Before I go to deep I just searched the forum and read for the past eight hours! I have not moved, this is the epitome of laziness.

Just got this phone (VERIZON) after NEVER having a smart phone or pda and let me say this is the best purchase I have ever made!

I'm very anal about having everything set to go so I have a few questions:

1. I installed TCPMP for videos and music, for my videos/music should I just make folders inside my storage card like "Videos" and "Music" or is there an easier way?

2. The phone is on 1.7 firmware, is it worth it to upgrade?

3. Windows Media Player 5 is on it, do most people upgrade to 10? Whats the difference?

4. Can I uninstall or should I uninstall any of the programs that come with the phone?

5. Any MUST do registry tweaks? I did the blinking light and message notification

7. Anything else a newbie should know? Do most of you, use pens?

8. Last question, does this phone have GPS and how does that work? I saw the iGuidance Maps for sale (2.3GB). How does it fit on a smartphone or do you need a receiver?

Programs I bought/downloaded so far:

PDAmill Snails
Wolfenstein

Resco Explorer
Pocket Informant 2007
Agilemobile
Weather To Go
pocketMax phone Alarm
Pocket TV Listings
TCPMP

Any other "must haves?"

Will this phone play .gifs?

LAST question. I have 15246k Memory available, is this bad and can I ever upgrade to more memory? I have a 2GB miniSD card also

Thank you all

welcome to the 6700. you have some great questions. but the most pressing is the one regarding the firmware. you should upgrade you rom before taking another step (since it will reformat your device). after that we will work each question one by one - in separate threads might I add.

welcome home dude.

hi and welcome.
if you would have read the entire forum you would have answered your own questions. all of these questions have been discussed here. kindly search for your answers and please do not load up one thread with multiple questions. it makes it harder for the next person to find the info they seek.

Ha ha, welcome. But I must say I'm SHOCKED that you read for 8 hours straight and didn't get any of these questions answered. Seems impossible really.
