I've about had it with people replying to posts saying "Seach for it".
Look, what's the big freakn deal if there is more than one post with an answer in it out here? And yer not helping anyone by responding with a smarta-s comment like "search". Why not just give the person the answer?
Take a look at some REAL fourms, like www.universalthread.com for example. There are millions of posts on this fourm, and don't recall anyone ever responding with 'search for it'.
At least this poster responded with the answer to the qustion too. (December).. -- but really people - can we PLEASE lay off the 'search for it' responses!

Yeah that always irritates me. I cannot recall the last time I was told that, but its annoying to see people being rude.

Ever noticed how often the person being told to do a search is a new member with only a few posts.......and is NEVER heard from again.....lessons in building a community anyone!?
I am not being rude. Look at my track record of the issues I have helped resolved. It's nothing against anyone, but there are MANY forums that I go to and post to and a lot of people do not search first before posting.
I'm simply helping you out, not putting you down. I can find an answer in 20 seconds that has been resolved instead of posting a question and having the possibility of waiting for hours...
Secondly, I answered your question. I simply stated that there are multiple threads out there that can be a lot more helpful than starting a new thread and wasting your time and possibly others time. I don't mind taking time to help people...If I ask someone to search, it's only for your benefit, and I have always provided a link to a thread that answers their question or I provide a response to your question.
It's Friday people, lighten up Grab a beer.

What I like to do if there are already threads on an issue is to do the search myself, to make sure it's reasonable to do and find, then I either include a link to the search results or to the actual posts with the answers to someone's question. Sometimes I will include search tips or an invitation to the poster to pm me for help with searching. I agree that if we are going to build and maintain a community we need to be polite and helpful. On the other hand, sometimes it is obvious that the poster is being lazy in their request for information, in which case I just don't respond at all. Oftentimes I notice that nobody else responds either, and I think we all must feel the same way. Politeness and common courtesy are as important in online communities as they are in real world communities, the adage "if you don't have anything nice to say...." always applies.
MadlyAlive - yes you did indeed give the person the answer. Guess you were the straw that broke the camel's back on this 'search for it' issue...hahaha
