Thanks for the heads-up. I can't find anything on the M$ site--anybody figure out what the upgrade from 1.5>1.6 involves? Hope it's not more $$ for a minor version uprade.

I tried the "upgrade" link on Handango (where I did buy 1.5) and the site said I didn't use the e-mail address I reported to buy the software (wrong) and that I might have the latest version already (wrong again). I sent a support request referencing the original order--I'll report their response here.

I have mine working well also. I have the voicedial hack in place, I also edited the 1.5 hex so that it doesn't turn off the mic boost. Overall it works good, and it bypasses the today screen lock, which is good. On the other hand, sometimes it will not work, and I have to reset my PPC, so if the 1.6 fixes this, plus some of the voice recognition stuff I will be all over this.

Upgrade pricing on Handango was 9.99. So far it seems like a 100% improvement over my HS850 BT. I can do voice dialing by digits over the BT which is 100% accurate. I tried like 10 calls dialing by digits. That is something that almost never worked for me over the BT. It also seems to work with noise in the background, my kids screaming and an open window. As far as Handango, the first time it said that it didn't recognize the email address, and I tried it again and it worked. So I am extremely happy so far.

Why is voice command better than the built in voice dialing software?

zizo72, expand your viewpoint a little bit. Admittedly the build in voice dialing software only does voice dialing. Voice command does much more including telling you the next appointment you have, announcing the incoming caller, 1.6 supposedly announces that not only that you have email but who it's from and what it's about. You can start programs by asking for them. On a sunny day when you can't see the clock you can simply say "What time is it" and it'll tell you. You don't have to assign voice tags to your contacts rather just say "Call " and it looks it up. And it asks you "Call at Home? At work?" etc. You can say "Play music" and it asks you "Artist, Genre,..." etc. IOW you can interact with the phone as a human being (well sort of).

Of course you could have answered this question for yourself with but a few seconds of research....

Thanks Defaria. I can start programs with voice tags. Rest of features are super nice. Where do I download a trial?

I just bought VC1.5 last Sunday, less than 4 days ago. I get the same problem with not recognizing my email address for upgrade pricing, but if I go to download the software again, the tital at the top changes to say Upgrade Only. Maybe we can re-download soon and get 1.6 for free. Since I just paid for it, I definitely feel I deserve the free upgrade.
