Help! Skype For P.pc. Says Its Not An P.pc App, On Alltel Ppc6700
Hi,
Tried to download the free Skype program from cnet today, went through just fine till i tried to open it and it said it was not a valid pocket pc program!
aha, so i am am idiot when it comes to this stuff, so...per your suggestion, if i wanted to go direct to me ppc, can u give me just a little more info that would b idiot proof.

Well...the idiot proof way would be to download the windows exe that is in the link I provided. Execute it on your computer and let it install. Hook up your ppc and it will install it on the 6700. It will tell you that you should check your screen to finish the installation. Choose whether you want to install in main memory or storage card (I would suggest main mem) and let her go!

You have to download the .exe on your computer and run, which installs on the computer and sends the .cab file to your ppc, via active sync, or just dowload the .cab to your ppc.

ok, here is a crazy question, right now i am at work, lets say i want to do the idiot proof deal where i download it to my pc here at work, and the sync up.
Here is the question, does it matter if i have a version on my work pc?
It shouldn't matter that you have the version on your work PC. I have AS set up at work so I can install programs that I find that do not have a cab and I can't E-Mail my self to install directly on the 6700. Most of the programs that get installed on a PPC do not need to sync data between the program you are installing (unless it specifically says that it does this). Best way would be to install it and check it out.
