Question Voice command for sprint PPC-6700

Im sure that there are a million and one posts on this topic, because i probably read half of them, but I still just do not get it. I have read all about going into regestry keys and things like that; I dont get it. Can someone please "dummy" it down for me. Thank you so much!

(Just to clear up what I'm looking for: A program that allows me to press the talk button on my BT head set (Motorolia H3), and then allows me to say "Call Bob" or something to that effect. Thank you!

if you go to utstarcom's website there are updates. The latest update allowed voice prompts for verizon (and should sprint) try it out (if you update from utstarcom's website you will lose all data so back back back it up! any questions email me kolbydukes@gmail.com

Here's how I do it and its works, there may be other ways but this works so well I haven't tried them.

1. perform the AKU2 rom update.

2. Buy and load Microsoft Voice Command.

3. Perform the following following hack:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path". Change the default value from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe".

4. push the call button and say "call Bob."

If you don't know what the AKU2 update is or how to do a regedit hack, slow down in what you want and start reading threads--give it a couple of weeks to learn this stuff.

Hmmm

Maybe I'm missing something in this thread because my Sprint 6700 came out of the box with voice activated dialing (not MS app). Works with BT headset as well.

All I needed to do is create the voice tags for the contacts.

Maybe it's a question of ROM version?

The Voice Command hack is only necessary if you have Microsoft's Voice Command installed.

Yes--you don't need voice command or to do the hack, but it works so much better and there is no need to set up voice tags, and you can dial a number by saying "dial three three oh six seven seven..." and you can check your calendar for appointments, and look up contacts, and you can launch web applications, and check your email, and get voice notifications of appointments and reminders, etc. etc.--its a pretty nifty program and at $30.00 or so its the cheapest best single purchase you can make for the 6700. But by all means, use the stock voice dialer, it will let you dial contacts you set up a voice tag for--that's it, but you'll save $30.00.
