Exchange direct push and SMS messaging ?'s (Sprint)

Hi All,

I have my 700wx set up to receive updates "as they arrive" from my companies exchange server.

I ran a couple of searches but could not find exactly what I was looking for. So here are my questions;

1. I had always thought that true push email did not use an sms triggering system. However, from what I have read it seems that this is how MS direct push works. Are you charged for the sms notifications that allert the device to ping the server?

If yes, then:

Are calender updates and sent email also synced the same way or is the device only triggered to sync with new mail?

The root of my question is how many sms pages can I expect to use over the course of a month? If I receive and email, send an from my PC, and update my calender from my PC all at different times am I going to get charged for 3 sms messages.

I can live with getting hit every time an email comes in, but things could get crazy if I get charged every time I send an email and the device needs to sync the sent messages.

Thx

If your Exchange Server is Exchange 2003 w/SP2, then you won't be using SMS triggers.

Read this article: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/...echnology.html

msexchange.org is one of the best Exchange information sites on the net. This goes into GREAT detail on exactly how DirectPush works.

Great read, thanks a lot to the both of you.
That is how I wlays thought true push email worked. There are a lot of "experts" over at treocentral who are addamant it is a sms triggering system.

That is why I cam here.

Thanks
