Very short USB charging cable?

Hello,

I have a spare AC charger and I have a spare usb charging cable. I would really like a small charging cable. Not one of those retractable ones but something similar to the standard usb charging cable but only about 6". I realize this is a very specific request but if someone had one I figure someone here would know about it. I basically want something I can fit in my pocket. I hop from PC to PC all day and it would be nice to have my phone charged as it rarely makes it to the end of the day.

I should be spefic, I need usb male to mini usb male. (I believe)

You could cut a usb cable in half and reattatch the four wires.

That is a good point. I appreciate the response. Ideally I'd get a premade 6" usb to mini usb cable - male to male. I have found a unit that is the wrong gender for the ipod but I'd prefer not to use a gender adapter.

Thanks

The Plantronics Discover 655 comes with a Mini cable that is about 4-5 inches long. I use it to charge the BT Head Set as well as the 6700

I remember a thread about this months ago (not sure I'd know the search terms to find it though), but in that thread I suggested buying a Sandisk 8-in-1 or 10-in-1 (or whatever they're up to now) USB card reader. They come with a base with an attached USB cable. But the card reader itself can lift out of the base for portable use and comes with a 6" USB->miniUSB cable (exactly what you're looking for). I've got two and I keep one in the car and one in my briefcase.

Edit: for the record, here's what I'm talking about--guess they're up to 12-in-1 now:

And here's a picture of the "extra" cable (it's not permanently attached to the card reader).

Very Short USB Charging Cable Source

Call or email Cellebrite

www.cellebrite.com

Ask for cable #80 i think it is. for *motorola, rzr, v325, Q, blackberry etc.

Ive used this cable for Motorola PST activities including flashing and also with a 6700 with activesync etc. No issues to report. Not sure if they will sell you one direct but its approx. 4-5 inches. I love it for my laptop.

Yeah I got mine with card readers too, if you have a Frys near you, look for a "media gear" card reader, black, has a 5" cable.

It was maybe 7.99 on sale.
