cannot get phone to tethere anymore

I'm trying to tether. for some reason I can not get my phone to act as a modem. the colored lights will not come on. I've had my phone to work as a modem before (several times). any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

soft reset
turn the modem on
connect it to the computer
dial #777

have all the above been done in that order?
are you getting any error messages?

thanks for the quick supply...

I've done several soft resets. the first 30 times, it worked great, I've seen the colors as soon as I've click start. I'm so lost as to why this will not work

One thing I have noticed:
I travel each week and use my 6700 as a modem almost every day. If you are using a laptop and you have more than one usb connection you may have plugged the usb into "the other" usb port from the one you first used. Check the properties of the dialup session (you are using WinXP DUN arent you?)

I have found that if you use the opposite one from the last time, the usb modem will not be checked as one of the modems to use for that connection.
