Audio playback positioning lost upon power off / DSOD?
Not sure if this falls under a DSOD issue...
I use my 6700 heavily (in the car and when walking) as my "iPod"--to listen to songs and podcasts that are stored on my miniSD card. The songs and podcasts are in WMA (both protected and unprotected) and MP3 formats--so I use WMP10 Mobile to listen to them. (Although I have TCPMP installed, I only use it for listening to streaming Internet radio--and only then, when I've got a good signal. TCPMP can't play back WMA files and the controls are just way too small for me to use effectively.)
When I pause WMP for more than a few minutes, the phone powers itself off. Upon powering the phone back on, the file I was listening to will frequently be unloaded from WMP. (It's strange; the phone can be powered off for just a few minutes and the file will unload. Other times, the phone can be off for 30 minutes or more and the file will remain loaded.) If the file I was playing was lengthy, or if I was listening to an album or playlist, I have to go about finding and re-loading it and then try to figure out where playback was paused.
FYI: When the file is unloaded and I use File Explorer or WMP to find the file to re-load it, I notice that the Storage Card object is at the bottom of the list--almost as though it isn't being detected right away when the phone is powered up.
Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? How can I consistenly keep the currently-playing file loaded in WMP? I figure this has something to do with the DSOD issues I've read about in this forum concerning some applications failing when stored on the miniSD card; however, I've never seen WMP mentioned.
Are the manufacturer and the providers aware of this issue? It seriously limits the ability to use the phone as a user-friendly music player.
