Where is the MMS app ? (verizon)

Not that I really need MMS, since e-mail works, but I'm curious about
where the MMS UI has gone. There seems to be no way to send
a picture message from my XV6700. The manual, page 94 has a nice
picture of a MMS message service in pocket outlook. Only problem
is this is missing from my device (shipped from Verizon last week).

Anyone else have the missing MMS syndrome ?

once you are in pocket outlook move the joystick the the left or right to cycle through your different messaging accounts (email, text, mms). Or you can do it from Menu -> Switch Accounts

I'm in a screenshot mood so here you go

Yeah, like I said, on my device THE SERVICE IS MISSING.
It isn't that I don't know how to select it, I do.
It isn't there. I have : 'Text Messages', 'Outlook E-mail', <my IMAP server>, 'Hotmail'. Nothing else. No MMS.

I do have 'MMS Configuration...' on the outlook menu.
That brings up a dialog that looks plausible for configuring
MMS options, but there is no MMS service in the list of accounts.

Have you done any hacks?

Specifically the Hard/Soft Reset hack?

MMS does not show up in the Outlook, Tools, Options, Accounts tab.

If you are scrolling through accounts (to the left) with the joystick MMS should appear after Text Messages.

If you did the Hard/Soft Reset hack you don't have the MMS application installed. The application is in your Extended ROM (which is hidden) but was never installed.

Hmm... since I have no idea what the soft/hard reset hack is, I
doubt that I've done it. But your clues are probably all I need to
track the thing down and install it. Thanks.

Ok, back from reading up on the extended rom and all that jazz...

So perhaps the customization process didn't quite take on my phone
at the factory ? I have all the verizon stuf, sans the MMS application.

BTW, what were they thinking removing the applications from the
installed applications list ? That's really stupid because now nobody can
tell for sure what's installed and not installed (e.g. in my case when
one of their apps didn't get installed).

Ugh..

I unlocked my extended rom, installed the MMS application (to storage
card so it doesn't suck up memory), and all is well.
