This looks really good and I would love to beta test this as well.

1. Set the password to lock after X min (common for those of use on corp exchange accounts)
2. Turn the device off.
3. Call the device and try and answer right away.

With the old version it seemed like all hell broke loose as everything tried to launch on wakeup. This caused lockups on some calls or a delay in button response when trying to answer.

I like what I see in the screen shots.. looking sharp.

One suggestion that would IF POSSIBLE. If you are going to offer the option to turn off the screen but keep the device running, could you see if you can alter how the LEDs flash so the user knows the device is not in sleep mode?

Sorry for the long delay. I have been working very long hours and I have not had much time to devote to working on this program. I will have plenty of time after this week ends however, and development will pick back up. I apologize for the wait.

I have given those who requested to beta test the app the initial beta version. Overall feedback is good, but there are some glaring problems that must be fixed. It works great, but issues must be addressed such as how my application responds to incomming calls. Thanks for the interest.

Excellent Work

Wow. great work. Its so nice to have the lock actually be there when the device turns on instead of making the whole process into an ordeal. I used to be afraid to turn my phone on cuz it might freeze up.

Thanks.

Hey Jim,

I returned the information that you requeted in the pM you sent me, but I never got anything back from you. Was I too late or did you not get it? Not a big deal, just wondering.

2 Ideas that you may like

1 Allow jpg/gif's as the background on the unlock screen

2 Have the option of instead of hitting the softkey unlock, you simply allow it to go to the unlock screen directly and then press that area behind the picture (so in effect the picture would hide the unlock button on the screen)

Don't know how doable something like that is...

Well I had an even better idea: skinning. Not only defining a custom background, but a custom skin. You write a script that tells onlock exactly how to draw itself. What background color/image to use, where to draw time, date, ect and other custom items. This would require a lot more time and effort, but I've thought about it for a while. Hmmmm... We'll see. Definitely not in ver 1.0 though.

As for the softkey unlock, the unlock method is already customizable in the pro version.

That lock on the today screen will lock when you tap it. The OnLock program that I have released just automatically activates that lock when the device is powered off so that you do not have to manually lock the one on the today screen yourself. Also, it does not require that you have the today item displayed, freeing up real estate on your today screen. The one that I am working on now is a much more flexible and customizable lock.

Can I get the Beta?

Can I get the Beta? I have a Samsung i730 and would love to try it. I have had some issues with .2 causing white screens and non functioning softkeys. The only way to unlock is to actually tap unlock on the screen.

A bit of a bug, will it be carried through to the beta?

I use City-ID for my caller ID. About 50% of the time your unlock prog won't allow me to answer an incoming call. If I don't use it, it works fine...Just thought I'd point that out... Keep up the good work!

I'm not familiar with City-ID. Sorry, is this a program? Do you have this problem with the regular onlock program?

To those who have pmed or posted asking for the beta version and have not already gotten it, I am nearly ready to release the first version. Thanks for all the support. I spent many hours and full days working on this despite college exams and a full time job over the holiday break. I considered a little bit about releasing it for a small cost like $5. But I know everyone likes free software. I think I will at least release the initial version for free. If I continue work on it to make it better such as implementing a skinning feature, I may then make the future versions for a small price. Or perhaps some would be kind enough to slip me a donation. I would like to afford the finer things like an a2dp headset. Or maybe just afford my school books. What do you guys think?
