??

I'd LOVE to see speech to text/text to speech implemented somehow.

Also the ability to record certain names with your own voice, my girlfriend's name is "Ivanka"(pronounced E vanka) and MSVC pronounces it totally wrong.

or the ability to say "open file" whatever without having to do that copy and paste into the start program folder.

i hope to see better integration and more command features. I would also like to see the option to set the incoming call caller id lady as the sole ringtone. Perhaps also better control with bluetooth?

I mentioned in another thread that I want it to have the ability to either custom record voice tags for contacts with hard to understand names and the ability to train MSVC to your voice.

It has worked pretty well for me, especially with the updated version of the Plantronics 510, but I have a couple foreign contacts with names that are hard to understand.

#1 Improve BT compatability and accuracy

As mentioned before - custom voice tags

Commands that would be useful:
"Take a note" function that would record a note
"What's my schedule" updated to read tasks due along with calendar items
"Look Up" updated to look up dates too
Improved media player control (ability to play playlists)
"Screen bightness" command
Some sort of "What is John Doe's address" command that reads the address out loud
A command to read an RSS feed

Oh, good call on that. I especially like the What is John Doe's address. I constantly have to say Call John Doe to bring up the contact's profile and read it real quick before it cancels itself or I say cancel.

I would like the nice VC lady to understand "Tom Petty and the Haertbreakers". She must not be a fan. What's really funny is that I never get the same thing twice. She never says "please repeat", but sometimes I get the calendar, or calculator, or internet explorer. I doubt Bill Gates is losing sleep over this though.

If you say "Show John doe" instead of "Call" it will open the record without you needing to cancel.

There was a guy a few weeks ago that mentioned that he knew someone at MS working on it (don't know how credible it was). He mentioned that it would be some time because apparently there are a lot of bugs (which is hard to believe...hear the sarcasm?).

This is a total wish list - It seems to me that whoever wants to win the PDA/Smartphone war needs to have the best voice command. I don't know what blackberry has along these lines, but I love being able use my phone for more than making calls without taking it out of my suit pocket.

btw... I always say "Look Up" - I didn't know you can also say "show". Nice tip.

that was me. i misread what he said. the latest version being worked on is 1.6 and yes there are (or were at the time) still quite a few bugs. My old roommate is now a software engineer at MS, and that came straight from him.

What feature - probably a release date so far into the future that most of us have lost interest in a new version. I really hope apple gets into the pda phone market because right now the lack of competiton is directing to many resources on things that compete with mac - like that zune thingy. They couldn't make a decent mp3 player for PPC - what would make me have the slightest interst in their mp3 player?
