I want my wife's phone and my phone to have the same calendar entries and contact entries. Can a 6700 do this?
I would like it all to be done wirelessly and would like it to be synced with either google or yahoo. I do not want to put outlook in the middle of this as that would mean that the phones could only be synced while at home, but if that is the only way, I would do that. The hope is that if my wife makes plans and enters an event to the calendar, than when I go check the calendar sometime later it would magically be there. If I get a new phone number for one of our friends, her phone gets updated and I don't have to remember to tell her about the change.
I would think with all the features of the 6700 I could do this, but it is not as easy as I hoped.
If someone needs to know some of the pitfalls I have run into I can elaborate.
Yahoo has a mobile service that syncs wirelessly. Yahoo Connect I think it's called. You should be able to use the same Yahoo ID on both phones to accomplish what you're looking for.

I don't know how to do it via the internet, but I can tell you that it works fine if both of you sync with outlook/activesync on a computer. We just make sure that we each drop our pda in its cradle at least once a day. I have to do that anyway to keep my phone charged.
I suppose it might be possible if you had an exchange server that you sync'd with wirelessly.
Looks like yahoo mobile has some neat features, but really geared to regular cell phone and not PPC. The 6700 isn't even in the list since it's a PPC.
The big thing is I would like it to update the calendar that is on the phone. That way I can get to it while in a phone call. I'm not sure if the 6700 can access internet information while in a phone call. I know that is one of the features of 3G networks, but not sure if the 6700 has it enabled of not.
Also it needs to update the phone contacts, since that is the list that you scroll through to make a call. If I were looking at a google contacts list from a web browser, how would I then call the number I was looking at?

Ok...So it syncs great from the phone to Yahoo's server (took all my contacts and calender items). It syncs great when creating an appt in Yahoo and syncing down into my phone (into the built in calendar). I created a test contact on Yahoo but it did not sync with the phone...
You cannot access a data connection while in a voice call like a GSM phone can.
As far as the Google thing goes, you most likely have to copy and paste the number into the phone.

awesome information. I will have to read more about Go! and GSM. I'm interested if you edited a contact in your phone and uploaded to yahoo. Then if the other phone would change when it synced. If you edited a yahoo contact and tried to download to phone would tell me the same thing.
That sounds about right. I would have played around with why the temp contact I created in Yahoo didn't sync down to the phone, but I had to hop on a Con Call. Download it and play around. It's free and you can always uninstall it!
