How many people have contacted UTStar about the BT?

I just read a post from ppc6700freak regarding the AKU3 patch however the AKU3 if we get it probably won't help the BT unit for static, distance, disconnects etc. I was curious how many people went to UTSTarcom's page to ask for a new BT stack?

I know with the 6600, there was a BT stack update available not from Sprint but from xdadevelopers that really improved the functionality of the BT unit. I'm hoping if enough people express concerns about the BT stack it might help. I think the stack was just a stack from an identical european gsm phone.

I'll be glad to post any response I get from them however it would probably greatly help if a few people made sure they were aware of the concern.

Who knows maybe if enough people express concerns they'll make sure they get it right with the 6800 or the 6900.

I have contacted them about BT turning off by it's self, with no luck. I am using a Qwest 6700. The updates for my phone seem to be low on priority.

They just asked what BT headset unit I'm using and if it can be discovered. I'm starting to think not many people have contacted them even though I see tons of posts about BT issues with this phone. I realize some headsets work better than others but the number of posts and people who listed their headsets show it isn't unique to a particular headset manufacturer or model from what I've seen.

Tsi99, I think the lack of clients on Qwest might lead you to believe your priority situation, I'm concerned that the 6700 EOL may also lower the priority for this phone as well. However if they don't fix the BT issues, it might mean a concern for them in trying to sell the 6800 or 6900 to Sprint.

For me, I'm anxious to see more competition anyways. I'd love to get a nice thin unit like the UBiQUiO 501 - half as thick as the 6700 and I can't imagine the BT could be any worse. It's full WM5 not smartphone so I get to run all the apps I already got for my 6700. It would be nice if Sprint starts to consider adding other brands such as UBiQUiO (13.5mm thick - half as thick as the 6700) or others - I just saw another full PPC 5 phone that was 16mm thick if I recall but I'll have to track down the brand - I don't think it had a keyboard but I use the screen keyboard all the time so I don't mind at all. There is also one that no one has seen in person but is supposed to come out this November that is also only about half as thick as the 6700.

Not sure if HTC/UTStar got the memo but full PPC WM5 phones don't have to be fat to be full featured.

I am wanting to listen to media player with my BT headset / headphones. Worked before the upgrade. Now since the upgrade when I hit the Headset/Headphones connection button to listen to the music, it activates the new Voice Speed Dial. After I dont ask it to dial when the VSP shuts off, it disconnects my BT from the music and starts playing through the phones internal speaker. Anyone know any fixes for this. UTSTarcom, said it is a firm ware issue that they can not remove at this time. Looking for an edit fix?
Dont want to let my $$ BT headphones to start collecting dusk.

This seems like a maybe, not a definite response - We are having another maintience release around November this will be fixing bluetooth issues on the device. That can also fix the static on the device. the word can seems to make this a possibility not a without a doubt response. Like eating chocholate bars can improve your disposition.

I guess the next thing is - Will Sprint ever release AKU3 and if so how long after they get it for testing? I've never understood Sprint's testing process - we find tons of bugs after they release phones they've "tested". Many of them items that will occur within 1 day of use. Do they "test them for about 3 months and say - yup- gots lots of bugs - now that we know that we can release the phone? Not really sure what the point of "testing" is if they don't fix the issues.

I have a Plantronics 510, haven't had a problem with it disconnecting or distance with the 6700. When I used the 6700 with my AX2, I needed to use it with Blades program. Bluetooth on the 700wx, it's another story, talk about useless.

Yes the Plantronics 510 seems to consistently work great with the 6700.

Starcom, BT

Starcom is right down the street from my office. I should stop by and see if they could help resolve this for us. let me know if this would worth the 5 block walk.

I'm using the ANYCOM HS-890 and it does turn off only when the phone is turned off. It's not that big a deal since I prefer it off when not in use since the battery life isn't so great.

The biggest problem I've always had with BT headsets (this is my 2nd) is that the outgoing volume isn't loud enough. I'm sure it's a phone issue because it works better on other phones I've tried it on.
