Turning On Bluetooth Quickly?

Hi,

Is there any "quick" way to turn on Bluetooth on the XV6700 rather than going to Comm Manager and clicking on the Bluettoth button?

I was hoping there was a way to turn it on by using a single keypress.

Thanks,

Len

I use phonealarm lite, and one feature is having the BT icon right on the today screen. BT uses v little power when on i would just leave it on.

Thanks for the reply.

After looking around a bit more, I found a freeware app that just turns BT on & off. It works pretty quickly too!

phonealarm has configurable profiles where you can easily switch in between profiles and turn bt on/off. I think the best way though is AEB plus's software that allows to map hardware key functions and one of them can be for bt

Check out this thread
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...oth-today.html

I'm currently using The BTicon program for a today screen visual and VJVolubilis to map a hard key to toggle Bluetooth.

The today screen visual is in the same place the com manger was before I removed it. I am using PHM tray launch in the same area with no problems.

VJVolubilis can control many other things like wifi and radio. Regarding Bluetooth you can turn on, turn off, and toggle. I think this combination is the best because of the size, simplicity, and little use of resources used.

Matt

I use AEButton Plus to toggle BT, Wifi, and a ton of other things. It's a great button remapping tool...

Sounds like what I want to do, but I won't have a chance to actually try it before tomorrow night.

In the meantime, can you please explain how you got rid of the com manager icon?

Thanks,

Len

P.S.- thanks to EVERYONE that has posted to this thread, these are all great suggestions!

Use PPC-6700 Hacks 2.2 by Triangle Powers. It's a freeware program that has a lot of valuable registry hacks. It's similar to tweaks2k but free.
