We normally do all exchanges via mail. You can call the customer service manager, Margaret, and ask her - but they probably won't be able to accomodate you, due to the way we process RMAs. If you'd like to call her, the number is: 832-204-1118. If she is not the person to answer, please ask for her.

My rubberized case is OK after 2 weeks -- but I don't use this as my primary phone. The clip on the left side of the keyboard is *very* poorly designed so it is no surprise that it breaks off. While mine is not broken, it is very ill fitting. Mine sticks out at this point and just doesn't conform to the shape of the phone.

Seidio: It doesn't appear to be too complex of a molding process to have the clip fully extend around the corner of the keyboard. It certainly is not a clearance issue. No excuses since the rest of the case fits nicely. And, it's not exactly an inexpensive product for what it is. I expect better thought-out and executed products, even if it is just a case. Put a little more money into your molds and molding process and you will have happy customers.

Good point - and one we listened to user feedback about. If you have a broken clip and are within warranty (and I would guess this would include anyone with a broken clip), the issue has been dealt with on currently shipping models.

I am currently waiting to here back from seidio b/c, as i noticed in your picture it looks as though you are missing your top clip, mine broke off too. I Hate how after only a month my case looks BAD b/c of the scratches on the rubber. I asked if i could exchange it out for a crystal case without the rubber and they said that they had to look at it to make sure that i didnt intentionally cause damage to the case. But as i have read here there are several people who complain about the rubber scratching. So, we'll see what they come back with.

No IR?

I got my case today - very fast shipping and great look and fit except I can't use my Stowaway IR keyboard with it! With all the other cutouts it seems it would have been simple to add a cutout for IR! - sheureka

Angry 2 weeks and nothing

I sent my black rubberized cover back as well, with a broken clip. It has been two weeks and I have yet to receive my replacement. I followed their instructions for returns to the letter. Anyone else had this problem with Sedio?

Please call our customer service manager directly. This is beyond the time it normally takes, but I can't vouch for what may have happened with your return. Her name is Margaret and you can reach her at: 832-204-1118. I'm sorry it seems to be taking so long.

How long ago did you talk to or email them? Did you request an RMA? If it has been awhile and you have requested an RMA repair, please call our customer service manager at the number in the reply just above this one.

After two whole days - here's my report. I'm going to keep it - there may be times it will come in handy - though I'll probably just throw it in the drawer with all those other things that seemed like a good idea at the time.

Pros - Looks (though mine hasn't had a chance to get scratched up yet)

Cons -
Even though the clip hasn't broke on mine, the fit is such that if I bump it on the corner the bottom almost falls off and I have to fiddle around with it to get it back on
It's very difficult for me to slide the keyboard in and out
It won't fit in my ProClip holder
It won't fit in my cradles (and I have 3 of them)
I can't use my IR Stowaway keyboard

Some of that stuff I knew before I bought it - but caveat emptor - sheureka

I've had mine for almost a week now, so I'll update my initial impressions as well.

So far, no broken clips. Though if I understood one of David's previous posts correctly, I have one of the "revised" designs. In contrast to the review above, I have not yet had the case pop off, and it seems to fit fairly snug. My keyboard does seem more secure now, however it slides easily enough and dosen't seem to take any extra effort on my part to open.

I purchased the combo with the beltclip holster, so I haven't had an issue with the case yet, and so far I'm pleased with the beltclip as well. The PPC fits in snug though it did take a few installs/removals for the spring-loaded retaining clip to loosen up a bit.

Now for the negatives...
1) It dosen't fit in the cradle, I knew this ahead of time however and that dosen't bother me much, yet could be an issue for some.
2) No IR port. However, I will probably take the dremel to it if need be...should be fairly quick and simple to cut a notch. Once again...not very convient for some users.

All in all, I'm pretty satisfied so far...as long as I don't suffer from the broken clip syndrome I run into any problems with it though, I'll update my "review"

3300 Views of this thread and only 50 replies...

I'm looking to purchase this case but that lower corner problem seems to be quite an issue.

If you have had the case for any length of time and have positive comments about that corner or the scratches or lack therof I'd love to hear about it.

Sheureka: Dont know what type of material it's made of but do you think it would it be possible to cut out a hole for the IR w/o any dire effects? One good drill hole right in the middle should do it unless the material may unravel or weaken around the edges of the hole.

Seidio: Same question as Sheureka for Seidio... and additionally for Seidio why would they cover that up and/or is there a revision on the way? How did they miss an IR port when they designed this thing?

This feedback has been sent to our product development group. We will update all when we have feedback from them.

David, I don't understand this email I received. What is the "call tag"?

"The replacement is being sent. Please use the call tag to return the broken case back to Seidio.

Please if you have any questions feel free to call or email

Hi,

What they are telling you is that you will receive a post paid shipping label with your replacement so you won't have to put out any out of pocket money to ship the defective product back. Hope that helps to clarify things.

In that case...I did not receive it. I received the product and there was a receipt in the box and instructions on installing it...that was it...

The best thing to do - since they told you there would be a call tag - is to call customer service at: 832-204-1118 and ask for Margaret. You can also try emailing them at the same address the original one came from, but it would be much quicker to call them if you could.

I’ve had the case/clip combo for a couple weeks now. After three or four days the “rubberized” part of the case started to wear away where it rubs on the clip. I emailed the RMA department via their web site asking for an advanced replacement. After a few days and no replies I emailed David asking for his help. The next day I started getting help on a replacement. In the week since then (still no replacement but I understand that they’re on back order and I think it’s in transit now) all of the clips on the keyboard side of the bottom cover have broken off. I’ve also started having trouble with the swivel part of the belt clip. Previously when you turned the case on the clip there was a distinctive “click” as it changed positions. Now it’s rather loose and just kind of flops around. I’ve emailed them about this too but that was Friday.

I’ve never been real happy about the fit of the case. It feels loose and makes the phone feel kind of cheap but I decided to live with it when considering the protection it offers. But I’m thinking that with this and other people’s problems that I need to look for another option.

I've the rubberized version

The bottom case both left hand tabs broke on my first case within 2 weeks, RMA seidio for replacement.

the replacement lasted almost a month, both the bottom left hand tabs broke again in addition to both the top case tab.

either i'm very unlucky or there's a problem with the design/plastic used

instead of RMA again, I've decide to do some modification/repair myself.

attach are pix of the repair, basically I find some semi-felixble plastic, those clear plastic blister pack packing material are great, and cut them to size. then file/sand down the broken tab area and then super glue them.

I put on the "top case" by inserting the top end first then snapping in the bottom tab. so....
the top case top tab can be bigger/longer, then the top case bottom tab have to be as small as possible, since the bigger the bottom tab, the more difficult it will be to put on/take off the top case.

my 2nd mod is a "light pipe" mod. this may only apply to the rubberized case crowd, as I'm not sure if the clear crystal have holes for LED or not.

I was some what annoy by the hole for the LED which when view at a side angle is next to impossible to tell if the LED is flashing or what color is flashing. so I went and find some small transparent plastic bits and make them the right size and put them in the hole, the result is similar to looking at the phone from a side angle without the case on.

as for the plastic bits, I got lucky hunting through my old casstte tape collection to find a tape case for the correct diameter/length plastic bits. There are 2 things to look for. a) the plastic post holding the casste in places, b) the little round plastic hinge of the tape case. different manufacture use different diameter or length so try them all to find the cloest match, then cut off the plastic bits and use sand paper to "rough up" the surface for greater light dispersion/reflection (transparent surface is less visible then a roughed up surface), as well as leveling out the surface.

My 6700 has lots of chewing gum and bailing wire (actually transparent shipping tape). I have tape on my Sd card (to make it thicker so it does not pop out as easily) and over the ejection launch tube slot so that if it does eject, it shouldn't fly off into outer space. I also have wire around the annoyingly conveniently placed buttons on the side that are covered with the same tape so I do not press the buttons very single solitary time I pick my phone up.

My thought was that this case would recess the buttons so they are only pressed when I want them to be pressed and I can more easily mod a door over the SD card launch pad slot.

Fortunately unlike Sheureka, I went with the BT Stowaway keyboard so the lack of a hole for the IR should not be a problem. I rarely use the keyboard and so I rarely slide my 6700 to the open position so I doubt I would break one of these tabs off.

However, I am wondering if double sided tape would work as well or better to more securely hold the cover/case on. Super glue doesn't always work for me. Anybody try tape? I had a crystal case for my Ipaq 2215 and I put moleskin in the corners to make a tighter fit and add some further padding but I doubt the tolerances for the 6700 cover will permit that.
