Hi,

Who are you emailing - what address? If you would be kind enough to email me directly and give me a number where I can reach you, I'l appreciate it. No matter what it is, I'm sure we can get it straightened out.

I like the black finish, but maybe the crystal finish doesn't scratch as easily?

Yeah I know it is just a case ... it is doing it's job protecting the phone ... but I still want it to look nice!! Come on Seidio!!
Hi Proto,

I'm talking to our development team about this as well; I would hope to have it resolved shortly. If it is a defective batch, we'll replace it; if it is a defective process, we'll change that before we replace it for you. If you have anything you want to discuss with me directly, please email me at the address below.

The other photo of the crystal cover shows a much better tab on the corner.

David of Siedio,
If you are monitoring this thread please let us know your thoughts on this. It won't do me any good to get a replacement if it has the same flaw.

Thanks,
Kenton
Kenton,

This is from our product development team. Please let me know if it solves your problem. If not, we'll do an RMA for you and get you a replacement.

"David,

I am thinking that the customer may not have followed the instructions in the manual. In order to put on the back plate, the user should put on the left side first (which is the same side he complains about fitting) then snap on the right side.

I do see some installation mistakes even from our employees."

David,

To be honest, I can't remember which side I installed first. I have had the case off a couple of times to try to get a better fit. So, this last time I made certain that I inserted the left side first. I even held the problematic left corner in place with my thumb while I secured the remaining tabs. Unfortunately, it still did not hold. There is a noticeable lack of material on that left corner tab.

Again, if you look at the photo of the clear case you can see that the tab is squarely over the surface of the phone. The black case does not have that. There is only a little nub of material that can't quite reach far enough over the edge. I thought it was an isolated defect with my case due to a bad release from the mold (or similar process error). But when I saw the photo of another case with the same problem it seemed too much of a coincidence.

Thanks for working with me to get this resolved. I want to make sure that your engineers realize that this may be a design problem.

If not, and you have black cases that are formed correctly then I would very much like to get a replacement.

Thanks again,
Kenton

Hi Kenton,

It sounds like a "case" of the malformed case. The easiest way to request a replacement for it (and the rest of the batch have not had problems AFAIK), would be to browse on over to the following link, answer a few questions, and you will receive an RMA number in pretty short order. If I can help you with anything else, please let me know.

Kenton

just FYI, My rubberized case with battery cutout fit snuggly in the area of concern. So maybe you did get a bad one. My "tab" in that corner hold about 1mm of the case. sorry don't have a camera with me to take a pix

yeah i just submitted a warranty/repair request. it is very werid, the tab was fine yesterday, I've not drop the phone/case at all nor give it any kind of major impact. I've not excessively put on/take off the case(at most 2-3 times when I frist received the case and have not taken it off since). Just today I slide open my keyboard to type a SMS and noticed the majority of the tab have broken off. It still have a tiny silver of the tab left holding onto the edge of the keyboard so I do not yet see the "gap" that kenton has in his pictures

RMA request submitted

David,

I have submitted the request for an RMA. It took a couple of days to get to it since I had to find the email for the original order.

I'll let you know how the progress goes.

Thanks,
Kenton

Good news

I just wanted to let everyone know that the replacement process for my rubberized case went very well.

I received my RMA# in a day and then received the new case a couple of weeks later. Figuring in USPS delivery (outbound from me and inbound from them), I'd say Seidio was right on time.

Thanks for the prompt service.

Kenton

Well, I just got in my extended 3200mAh battery, rubberized case, and swivel belt clip.

I really like the rubber case. It looks slick and should provide a nice level of protection to the phone. It still fits nicely in the swivel clip...a little snug...but its definately not going anywhere.

As far as the battery is concerned, its not nearly as bad (bulk wise) as I thought it was going to be and I really haven't noticed the extra weight.

David, I apologize for not posting sooner, but my issue was handled appropriately and quickly once I emailed the correct address. I came back to this post and realized that I didn't reply.

I LOVE the case! Unfortunately, the bottom of my case no longer stays attached. I'm going to file the RMA form tonight. I'm also going to buy the new holder to attach the phone/case to my belt.

Hey David, I got an RMA number for my case too. The corner on mine came defective as well. Can I come by the facility since I work near by or should I mail the package?

HELLO everyone . I purchased a black rubber slim case with the belt clip holster. After only 2 weeks maybe less, one of the clips on the black casde near the keyboard broke and the case doesnt fit right and just sort of hangs off. I know what you might say, he didnt put the case on the right way. THAT IS NOT THE CASE AT ALL. The clip was never broken until yesterday and the case was never taken off since it was placed on the phone the first day I got it . Opening and closing the phone is what seems to be the issue with the broken clip . I know i can file a report within the 180 warranty issue , so I called up seido CS and they told the only way that they can do anything for me is if I send in the broken product. I understand completley, but what I do not understand is that I would like the new case before I send in the old defected case, so this way I have;
1. something covering my phones forthe 2weeks it will take for them to get me out a new case.
2. so I can use the holster which doesnt work WITHOUT the rubber case.

does anyone know david changs email address, he seems to be a person who cares about his returning customers and will do the right thing .
thank you

Whoa - I ordered one a few days ago, and since then a whole bunch of people have posted about problems they're having. I hope I don't regret buying it! Makes me a little nervous, since I'm going to be out of town for a few weeks and won't be able to return it if it breaks. I guess I'll take along an extra set of egrips. - sheurkea
