Can't tell you anything about a scam... Only my experience (which is obviously limited since I've only been a member of this site since 11/08/2003, and have had 8 different PDA phones since then). The ebay user I purchased from has a rating of 99.6% positive with 34804 transactions, and they are a powerseller (in case you didn't check the link).
So far I've used the hell out of the card with over 3 GB on it and haven't had one single problem. I've loaded all of my programs to the card and they've all worked perfect. Also have Sprite backup on the card and haven't had any problems backing up the phone everyday.
For me, buying the 4GB card off of ebay (from pc2buy) is how I came to register for this site. When I received the card a week or so ago, my 6700 would not read it so naturally I felt that I got ripped off. I was all set to send it back when, as a last ditch effort, I did a google search and found this thread with the advice to try reformatting the card. I just got a chance to do this last night and it works as advertised. I stuck the card in the SD slot on my desktop and got a command prompt and issued "format d: /fs:fat32". I then stuck the card in my 6700 and it was instantly recognized. I'm still in the process of syncing over all of my Urge music as well as many MB's of marine charts but so far it works great.
Hello, new to this site and my PPC 6700. I just recently purchased a 4GB SDHD Mini from this site(http://www.flash-memory-store.com/qm...e-digital.html) for my 6700, it was the second of two cards that i purchased for my phone, the first was a 2GB SanDisk card that did not work on my phone. When i first tried my new Qmemory card my phone would not recognise the card, and i felt like i just wasted another $100.00, but i then moved one picture to the SD card using the provided adapter from my desktop computer, and then my phone was able to read the card. I did not apply any firmware upgrade or install any additional software, and my phone was able to read the 4GB SDHD mini card, oh and to be sure it was actually a 4GB card, i transferred 3.97Gb of information to it. Hope this information helps all of you looking for the ability to store more on your 6700.
I went through the ebay retailer linked a few posts up, got my 4 GB MiniSD + adapter... and itr works flawlessly after following the formatting rules above.
I have a text only wikipedia archive and a couple gigs of music on hand now, and I love it.
Hey guys, I just purchased a transcend 4GB mini hcsd card from NewEgg for my xv6700. I got it in the mail today and unfortunatley when I put the card in the phone, it seems to lock it up. As soon as I remove the card all is good again. I only paid 60 bucks for it and I figured that if it didnt work I could always send it back. Does anyone have any input on this matter? I read of updates that could make it work, but nothing concrete.
TIA
Justin
Funny enough, I bought a 2GB miniSD Ultra II from NewEgg and the same exact thing happened (froze completely upon insertion, unfroze right when you take it out). I called SanDisk support, and they said that I wasn't the first person to call support who purchased a memory card from NewEgg. They might need to check on their supplier.
Not quite ready to make the 4GB jump (I'll just wait for the 1TB ), but does anyone else use the 2GB Ultra II in the 6700 without issue?
RMA'd my first card to NewEgg, and they're now out of stock (of course).
BUT I did just buy a 4gb memory card and none of my readers can see it so it is impossible to format and I just read that Windows Mobile doesn't support SDHC. So do I return the card?
I ordered the 4GB card off of ebay (from pc2buy) and it works fine after formatting in fat32. pc2buy even throw's in a USB 2.0 card reader for SD and mini-SD. Positive feedback for pc2buy and his 4GB mini-SD card!
i did get a 4 gb mini-SD on ebay (grassroots computer) - once i formatted it on my pc, it seems to work fine.. it was adverised as a samsung brand, but i don't know where the actual packaging is right now to double check.. ps - i have a 6700...

Bought the 4 GB card off ebay also and it works great. Just copied all my data and apps from my 1 GB card to the 4GB card (which was preformatted FAT32) and stuck it back in my 6700. Everything works as before and now I've got room for my Audible books AND my mp3's!
I found this thread on a google search to find out if the new minisd 4gb cards will work on the xv6700 / ppc6700. This thread helped me, so I'm posting here with a definitive answer.
The 4gb mini sd card WILL work on the xv6700. I researched the bigger minisd cards and found that there are traditional minisd cards and MiniSD HC, which is high capacity. The confusing part about that is that all the 4gb MiniSD were advertised as "high speed" and not HC (high capacity).
Finally, my experience and how you can easily make a 4gb MiniSD card work in your 6700:
Based on google searches, I bought my 4GB MiniSD card from the user on ebay "grassroots-computers" The 4GB card was listed as "High Speed" not high capacity, so to this day I'm still not sure if the card I have is officially considered HC or not. Anyway, the card came quickly from that seller and when I put it in my phone, it didn't realize it had a card in it, so I quickly concluded that it wasn't formatted, or if formatted, not in the right file format. The card from that seller on ebay came with a free SD adapter and I lucked out because I just today realized I have a built in card reader in my laptop. I put the card in the SD adapter and put it in the card reader. The laptop with windows xp found the card and gave me the option of formatting it only in FAT32. I formatted the card as FAT32 and put it back in the phone. It instantly saw it and was able to use it.
Summary:
- The 4 GB MiniSD cards work in the XV6700 / PPC6700.
- They seem to come unformatted and the 6700/Windows Mobile doesn't have a format option so you'll need to have or borrow an SD card reader to format it. Windows XP will format the card fine.
- FAT32 works fine for Windows Mobile & the phone.
- The ebay seller "grassroots-computers" sells the 4 gig cards that will work in the 6700.
Hope this was helpful. This is the information I was looking for when I was trying to buy a 4 gb card for my 6700.
4gb miniSD from grassroots computers works for me as well on my PPC6700
FYI:
From a recommendation (like the previous post) I went to grassroots computers
and bought one of the 4 gb miniSD cards. This card I believe in NON-SDHC which is probably why it actually works. Been using it for a week now and its working so well I decided to buy a second one from them.

I tried this with a card 4gb Transcend SDHC card and still couldn't get my phone to recognize it (it locks up when inserted) so I don't think the card you have for your phone is actually SDHC. I bought the other card as grassroots computer (4gb NON-SDHC) and it works great. I wasted $70 on the SDHC card but if someone else is successful in getting a SDHC card to work with the PPC6700 let me know because I would love to not let that $70 go to waste.
