Active Sync Running After a Disconnect

Hello,

Currently every time I disconnect my xv-6700 (Original ROM Version) from my computer Active Sync remains running and I must go into the memory settings to manually end it.

I have updated Active Sync to the latest version and reformatted the phone but the problem still persists.

My phone connects to my computer via a USB hub (not sure if this would cause the problem of Active Sync not shutting down).

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Bill

That is normal.

While many of us don't want Active Sync running ALL the time, that is how it was designed (or lack of design) to run.

I saw a product not to long ago that would kill Active Sync after a period of time if it didn't have an active connection with the PC. I don't recall which product did that though.

You can also search for "activesync hack" to keep it from starting on its own.

I tried the hack and ActiveSync never starts on its own. It just doesn't shut off like it is suppose to when I take it out of the cradle. And because it remains active, if I don't manually end ActiveSync, my PDA runs extremely slow, it is almost unusable. But while the PDA is in the cradle and ActiveSync is running, the PDA runs normally.
