how can I get Blackberry type push email on the 6700??
Ok i've searched for a few days across a few forums and have yet to come up with a straight answer. With the blackberry's you can run the redirector service on your desktop and it will automatically send new emails to your phone and you can respond right back through the service so in a nutshell no one sees that your not emailing straight from your desk. A few people in my office run the desktop redirector and I love the speed it has. With tmobile and their blackberry the email is seemless between the outlook, redirector, and phone.
So my question is, is there anyway i can have this sort of setup with the ppc-6700 with sprint? or am i stuck with a reconnect every 5 minutes and see if there is new email? no way i can have it always on and it NOT interrupt my normal phone service, too.???
The Sprint phones have a feature called Direct Push. It connects directly with your Exchange server and when an email comes in, it immediately gets pushed to your phone. I get messages on my phone faster than I get them on my own computer. Then you can respond, delete, forward, or whatever you want to do. It is totally synchronized with your Outlook over the air, which the Blackberry can't do entirely.
If you dont have an exchange server, you can use Sprint's Business Connect for like $5/month and it pretty much does what the Blackberry redirector does.

Install SP2! You should have done that like 6 months ago when it came out!
BTW, I have DirectPush with my work and personal mail and its kind of overkill if you're at the office most of the time. Last thing I need is to get an alert on my laptop and cell about the same email. DirectPush is probably best appreciated when away from the office. I mostly keep me AS set to check mail every 30 minutes and go DirectPush when I'm mobile.
