Blinking LED eating up 10% of battery life

http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7241
It might be nice to get rid of the blinking green network indicator. So can we disable it? Tweaks2k2 dosen't work and I've yet to find a solution.

from what I understand, there is a hack to do it but it also disables vibrate on the device (also a battery killer but technically since it's used so little, it doesn't really matter).

I know people are trying to hack around for it but I don't think there has been much success.

I'm not so good at math, could someone explain to me how 5mAh is 10% of 1350mAh? The leds burn 5mAh and the battery is (at least) 1350mAh. I keep coming up with 3.7%.
If that's true, And you're worried about a few extra minutes of run time, you're better off getting the regular size "extended" battery and forgetting about the leds.

i think your numbers are correct, at least they sound more like what I remember reading a couple weeks back.

either way, that's equivalent to running push email or an active BT connection, which is pretty significant in my opinion.

You know I should have said IF the LEDs burn 5mAh... Because no one has actually proved that this number is correct.
