VZW WS use AS??

Does the Verizon Wireless Sync software make use of Active Sync for Push mail?

I've done the hacks to prevent Active Sync from running, however I keep find it running. Only thing I can think of is that the VZW Sync software needs it and keep launching it.

Any help??

VZW's Wireless Sync does not use ActiveSync. It has its own client software that facilitates the push updates. I always find it running on my device too--I don't know why.

Active Sync

This used to happen to me also, until I did the following.

First, from Activesync on the mobile device, you must Configure a "dummy" Server. Then you can adjust the schedule to manually sync and delete the dummy server. The instructions on how to do this are on this forum.

But next you must go to Settings on the mobile device, Select Phone, Select the Services tab, scroll down to Time Sychronization, click Get Settings, and uncheck "Time synchronize."

After doing these, you will see that Activesync no longer starts, unless you dock your device.

Hope this helps.
