I had the same problem when playing from the storage card.

I reformatted the card as "FAT" (instead of "FAT32") and that solved the problem. (and made everything else faster as well).

Can you tell me how you formatted the storage card, so I can do it also.

Thanks

I understand there are PPC applications out there that will allow you to re-format the storage card -- but I don't have one, and I do have an SD reader on my PC, so I just went that route (better anyway, as you can back-up the data first and do not have to worry about re-installing any music or apps that may be on the card). NOTE: you probably know this already but, just in case... be aware that formatting the card WILL destroy any data on it, so you need to be sure you have a backup or some way of restoring the data afterward.

If you want to go that route, and you have an SD reader on your PC, here is all you have to do: just open up a Windows Explorer window and be sure to turn on "View hidden files" (Tools / Folder Options... / View tab / Show hidden files and folders". On the "My Computer" level, open up your SD card, select all the files, and copy them all to some other temporary directory. Then return to the "My Computer" level, right-click on your SD card and choose "Format...". Under "File System" choose FAT (not FAT32) and make sure "Quick Format" is unchecked -- and then just press OK. When it is finished, copy the files from your temporary directory back onto the card and slip it back into the 6700 -- it will run like nothing happened (although I guess it probably wouldn't hurt to do a soft-reset before plugging the card back in to the 6700).

I gave this a try (using a usb card reader - mucho faster than ActiveSync) and while WMP still sucks, it skips less and starts quicker - but the real news for me is that the small amount of skipping I get with Pocket Player is also reduced - still not perfect, but definitely better. One step at a time...

Reformatted SD card issue

I reformatted my SD card to FAT instead of FAT32. The only problem I have is that the music skips when played from WMP on my device. If I use a headset or any kind of external power the songs play fine. I also use the 2800mAH battery, but this happened with the stock battery.

EXCEPT for the skipping, I am happy with the device as is & dont need the NEW upgrade, expecially since I have been reading of ALL the problems. IS THERE A FIX for this problem??

Thanks,

Rich

Fixed the problem, I was downloading WMA files, changed the file format from .WMA to .mp3....No more skips & ALL is well.

Hey would this speed up ROMS playing from the SD card too?
Thanks in advance
