How can you bypass items in Startup?

If you have software in Startup, or (in my case) a bad Today Plugin, is there any way to bypass the items on a reboot?

I suspect I've got a bad plugin in the Today Screen ... when I reboot I get all the way up to starting to see the Today Screen, and my XV6700 freezes.

It isn't alive enough to connect via USB and Explore the unit.

I have no startup items or programs on the storage card.

I even tried calling it while it was booting up, it switched to the phone app, rang a few times, then froze again.

It will be fairly annoying to have to hard reset over this ... any ideas?

Unfortunately, the only program I know of is SPB Pocket Plus which has a brilland "Safe Mode" function that does exactly that: disables all plugins, startup programs, etc...

But it would so much nicer if it were a standalone (I don't need the other 95% of Pocket+). There used to be one for WM2003 but it doesn't work with WM5. We should urge a developer to get on that--I don't think it'd be very hard.

Unless anyone have anything else already?
