I would be interested in using it with an SD camera such as the HP Photosmart on the PPC-6700 which only has a mini-sd slot. The specs say it supports SDIO. Very interesting...

ya as long as you didn't touch it or breath on it or do anything else that would cause it to break off....
If it supports SDIO it would be kinda cool though - question is does the mini-sd slot on the 6700 support the i/o part or not? I wonder how all that works, if the mini-sd has to support i/o or if this little adapter gizmo handles all that.
I agree, buy the Mini SD with a SD adapter, it is much safer and cheaper, the adapter may have too much of a neck to fit in the phone and seems to be very breakable!

Two concepts ...
1> If you buy the Mini-SD disk and place it into the included SD adaptor. Then, the Mini-SD looks exactly like a SD disk in shape and size. Therefore, it will insert into a SD camera.
2> The TV tuner you talked about is a whole different idea and the Mini-SD to SD adaptor would not apply.

This thread is actually regarding the opposite, an SD to miniSD adapter.
Actually, if you guys take a look at the product in the link in the opening thread, its about being able to plug full sided SD cards (and hopefully I/O devices) into the mini-sd slot on the 6700 by using a 3rd party adapter you can buy (hense, the link).
What I'm trying to figure out is if these 6700's mini sd is I/O and if that is needed to use sd/io devices (like that tv tunner I mentioned) with this 3rd party adpater, or if the 3rd party adapter does all this on its own (thus negating the need for mini-sd/io)
ya this is getting pointless. First of all there is no indication that this 3rd party adapter REQUIRES the mini sd host has i/o capabilitiesto work, and no way to tell if using the adapter GIVES you sd/io capabilities if your sd-mini doesnt have it (which I doubt).
...so I'll check FCC website or call UTStarComm and find out cause obviously this here is not helping anyone figure out anything.
