cannot get my 6700 to sync with Exchange 2000

My company runs an Exchange 2000 server, which has always been my understanding will not allow my 6700 to connect directly with ActiveSync. Just recently I discovered that some Palm users with ChatterEmail can download an exchange plugin that does successfully connect to my company's exchange server.

Whenever I try to connect, I get the Support Code: 0x85010006 and the message, "Your account in Microsoft Exchange Server does not have permission to synchronize with your current settings. Contact your Exchange Server administrator."

Our administrator claims everyone is setup the same, leading us to believe the difference is in how the 6700 is trying to connect via ActiveSync and how the ChatterEmail plugin is connecting. Could this be one of those Microsoft things where they crippled the ability to use WM5 unless you've purchased a more recent version of Exchange?

Does it make sense that the ChatterEmail plugin should work but I cannot connect from my 6700? Should a 6700 be able to connect to an older Exchange server? Thanks in advance.

The chatter plugin uses owa to sync, without the exchange plugin chatter uses imap to sync. Your 6700 uses exchange active sync, you probably have a certificate issue that's causing your problem. I hope this helps, there are several threads here concerning the certificate issue, that's how I fixed mine.
