You're not the only one having issues with a 2GB MiniSD card.
Mine is a Sandisk, purchased from Amazon and at one time it worked flawlessly (and with the full 2GBs used). One day it crashed, causing me to lose a good number of images that I hadn't yet backed up. A few days ago I was loading the new iGuidance 3.0 map files to it, and noticed that it was only registering 1GB. Basically I must've reformatted it the last time I rebuilt the file structure, and not it seems impossible to reformat it for 2GB.
Officially, Sandisk's 2GB card doesn't support the 6700 based on recent messages from their customer service folks (search the web, their 2GB card has caused a number of headaches).
I'm basically using mine as an expensive 1GB (backup) card until someone helps me reformat it for 2GB. Any ideas (assumption: this extends the original post and doesn't hijack the thread in another direction)?
Responses I don't want to hear: "you're never supposed to reformat a memory card", or that HP's card reformat utility will help (it doesn't).
Thanks!
- Doug
