Pioneer DEH 9800BT: cant dial from phonebook, will not auto connect w/ 6700
Anyone using this head unit with the Sprint PPC 6700?
I found few reviews on Amazon and Crutchfield of someone who had success with this combo. But I am having a hard time. I have updated my phone with APAC_SPCS_20600_300_11200_ship.exe.
I am able to pair and make calls. But two issue I am having are
1. I can't dial from the phonebook on the pioneer.
2. They will not auto connect when I turn on pioneer.
I have tried my wife's phone and both of these issue Don't have any effect on her phone, so I guess the problem is the ppc 6700?
I does auto connect when a call comes in or you dial from the phone, it will not auto connect when you first start the car. You can't dial from the pioneer either.
IMO it's the 6700 that lacking here, it treats the head unit more or less like a blue tooth headset.
since you both have the pioneer head unit. how does the sound quality? Can people hear you talk while on the freeway driving @ 70 mph? How about echo, do you have that problem? Can you provide some review of the bluetooth functionality with the 6700? I am thinking about getting this head unit or the premier version of it.
I also have this deck the sound is awsome, i did however found out the reason why it won't dial, out ppc keeps phone numbers in this format (763) 454-2343 well when you beem the contacts over to the deck it see it as _763_454_2343 (_ means space) so what i had to do was go in and edit the numbers on the deck itself and take out the _ spaces. and now i can dail from it. i know its a lot of work and it sucks, but it works after you do that.
I agree, the sound from the people I am speaking to is great, but often they have trouble hearing me. Any advice on how to make the mic more sensitive, or would this only create more echo? Thanks for the dialing fix, I will give it a try.
