Exclamation Ppc-6700 Ip Address Conflict error???

Hello Everyon!!!

I am having a conflict problem with my IP Address on the 6700. I have a Wireless Linksys Router and a Desktop PC Linksys Card with DHCP set on my router. When I turn on my computer a icon pops up and tells me there is a conflict with an ip address on the network? i am able to get onto the internet with the 6700 when it is pluged into the docking station which is pluged into via usb the desktop. The desktop and the 6700 are using the same ip address and that is where the conflict occurs!! I have tried to tell the 6700 to renew the ip address while it is not docked into the station but it assigns the same ip address as the desktop. Anybody know how i could get the two (6700 and the desktop) not to share the same ip address? Do i need to change the router settings to static and assign each computer and ppc6700 a ip address manually. Help me if you can please, i almost got it but not quite yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you

This doesn't make sense...DHCP means Dynamic. But whatever the cause of your problem is, the easiest way to fix would be to change your desktop PC to a static IP. Don't touch the router.

Now I said that is the easiest way. I'm sure there is some other factor here that is causing your problem that you could resolve, but I don't know that I want to get that deep into it. Changing the desktop IP will workaround your problem, no matter what it is.

Power down or disconnect everything on the router, than power down the router. Wait 1 minute. Power up router, and reconnect or power up each device hooked to the router 1 at a time. The router has either assigned 2 devices the same IP address or, you have one device that has a fixed IP some where.

The conflict is that the 6700 has been assigned the same address as another computer, possibly by the router.
