Question Haard Reeset

I would like to hard reset my XV6700 and reinstall everything because I've only had this phone for about a month or so and with the installation issues of WM5 I have ALL KINDS of junk on it now and would like to start afresh. But, if I do this will I lose my phone settings? If so how would I get the phone up and running again?

Thanks for your help

Search the forums a bit. Search the thread _titles_ for "junk" and look for XV-related threads. I don't want to give you bad advice because I have a Sprint. But the short answer to your question is: your phone will still work as a phone when you do a hard reset. It just won't have much on it. Dunno about Verizon, but on Sprint I don't have to reactivate the phone or anything like that. It "just works" following a hard reset. Then there's the hours of software reinstall, but that's ok, I enjoy mucking around in there.

Thanks, I read already the thread about 'junkware removal' on the Sprint phone, but your answer seems clear enough to me. Although it would be just my luck if Verizon have hooked it up to not work or something weird??!! I kinda hoped the answer would be what you said, 'cos I'm not looking forward to the hours of software reinstallation, as well as trying to get my phone to work!!

JuilieP,

Go to the programs folder and click on Clear Storage. This will hard reset your phone to when you first picked up your phone from Verizon or ROM update.
