I had the problem on my 6700 when you turned it on it was slow to respond (not DSOD) after I removed mobipocket from the SD and hacked the unit the problem went away. I have installed the Verizon upgrade and reinstalled my software and the problem is back. However the key that you hack for menu animation hack is no longer in the registry. Did it move? or should I add it?

Disable menu animations

To disable menu animations (sliding in/out) and speed up performance of the UI a bit:

HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\AniType = 0 (DWORD decimal)

To change it back to the default:

HKLM\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\AniType = 6 (DWORD decimal)
