way to assign a hardware button to turn on speakerphone??

Is there a way to change a button(Internet Explorer button) to speakerphone On? I have a case and when I am driving, it is tough to open the case to press speakerphone. This would be very helpful.

please do not take offense if you already know this but while you are in a call, you can press and hold the green phone key and that will turn the speakerphone on.

I did not know this but now I think I remember reading about that. Thanks for your help. This will help immensely.

But I, like stevejay, would like a DEDICATED speakerphone button. Not one you have to press down and hold. Is there a hack I can do? A dedicated program that toggles this that I can assign to a hardware key, perhaps?
