laptop Activesync not recognizing 6700 (desktop ok)
Hi, I have a PPC6700 and when I connect it to my laptop, the activesync don't see my pocketpc but I can see it in my Device Manager. If I connect it to a tower PC it works.... I tried on a 1 x IBM T40 and 3 x IBM T42.
1. dont use the cradle, just plug the usb cable straight into the phone, and
2. try using a different USB port on your computer.
Usually when I use my cradle I dont have it plugged into the wall for power at the same time. A few times I've caught myself plugging the usb sync cable into the wrong port on the cradle.
You say "department laptops," coult there be some kind of security system blocking your attempts to ActiveSync?
I have had problems making a connection with All computers at work (all Dells) both laptops and desktops. No trouble at home. Still working with IT on it, no solution yet.
We don't have any security policies on laptops, only on desktops, I will check today with our Active Directory administrator... Please let me know if you find someting...
Thanks
It works on non-domain laptop... It doesn't work on domain laptop with a local user... hummmmm It works with my PPC 6600 on all desktops or laptops not with PPC 6700...
Gotcha!!! My Network Places - Properties, You will have a new network connection made by your PPC-6700, go to Properties of this connection and check all checkbox... ActiveSync will open....

Gotcha is right!
This is the exact problem I was having (and solved today) with the Dells at work.
