laptop Activesync not recognizing 6700 (desktop ok)

Hi, I have a PPC6700 and when I connect it to my laptop, the activesync don't see my pocketpc but I can see it in my Device Manager. If I connect it to a tower PC it works.... I tried on a 1 x IBM T40 and 3 x IBM T42.

Can you help me?
Thanks
Marc

I've never got my 6700 to sync properly with any windows 2000 machine, I've always had to use an XP one....perhaps that's the issue?

are you using the USB cradle? Perhaps you can try using the IR port on the laptop or bluetooth if it has it?

hmmm...ok try this.

1. dont use the cradle, just plug the usb cable straight into the phone, and
2. try using a different USB port on your computer.

Usually when I use my cradle I dont have it plugged into the wall for power at the same time. A few times I've caught myself plugging the usb sync cable into the wrong port on the cradle.

You say "department laptops," coult there be some kind of security system blocking your attempts to ActiveSync?

I have had problems making a connection with All computers at work (all Dells) both laptops and desktops. No trouble at home. Still working with IT on it, no solution yet.
