Updated with the new ROM successfully yesterday. Performed a hard reset to not install MMS or Wireless Sync and everything is working fine.
I can't seem to get my Voicemail password programmed into Settings - Phone.
I've tried pp, ",," (no quotes), and ww to no avail. Anyone get this working?
Update - Got it working with *86pp#p1234# where 1234 is your password.
Just an update on the new rom. Have had significantly more DSOD's with it.
Have removed egress as I somewhat suspect it. Will shoot for ADB next if that doesn't do it.
Other software reloaded after the rom update:
VC
ADB Weather w/today plugin
pocket streets
pocket nes
iMov messanger
virtual earth
RE: DSOD try disabling the time synch over network. That seems to have been a problem b4 and still for me. Disabling that seems to have put an end to the DSODs. Report back if this helps.
I just noticed this morning that my Sent items are no longer syncing with Exchange. Our exchange server does not have SP2 thus I am not using the new "Push" feature. I recalled an option with the prior rom to sync sent items with the server as well but can't seem to find that option with the new rom.

The settings to sync different folders will be on the computer you plug the device into and not on the device itself. I noticed this with my treo too.
In activsync go to Schedule -> options tab click email, then select folders.
BTW I just updated my 6700 fine today. Everything is working great. Got to re-install the emulators though
For anyone who is not getting audio over bt anymore since the new rom and doesn't want to use another app ... this work around will get it back ... lock the phone screen with the new lock ... then press and hold your headset button ... audio now works and you can unlock the screen and listen to mp3's, movies, etc. ... kind of a pain .. but works ...
when I tried the bt audio toggle hack I got an error message about .net being the wrong version or something ...

I updated my ROM last night and it bricked my phone, fortunately the other threads were helpful and I got it working again and updated it.
I did get something weird afterwards -- I was in phone and a box opened that had 3 buttons, hybrid, EVDO and 1XRTT. I didn't click on anything but when I tried exiting it said saving changes and soft- reset itself. I think it's in hybrid mode (whatever that means).
Anyone know what that was and how to re-access it?
That is a hidden phone setting. First look for it under Settings > Phone > Services. If it's nto there, you can enable it by going into the registry and modifiying HKLM/software/oem/phonesetting/hiddenpreferencemode, change to a 0 and reboot the device.
just an update to earlier DSOD woes. It wasn't Egress. It really seems to be the network time update. Disabled Network Time readded Egress. No DSODs since.
Another oddity with the ROM update. Some programs in the recent area of the start menu have the generic windows box icon and not the actual icon. For instance, pocket streets, pocket nes, virtual earth. Most are fine but those listed above (and i'm sure others) had real icons before. No biggie I guess.

You can actually set the folders to sync directly on the device. If you open outlook on your 6700 you can go to MENU/TOOLS/MANAGE FOLDERS - place as check in the folders to sync and the next time you sync the messages should be there
Can someone confirm you can still receive calls while the EVDO connection is active, after this update? It looks like this was an issue with one of the other phones.
if you are in a data call, the voice call will suspend the data call. Likewise, is you are on a voice call and try to start a data call (by browsing) you will get a notification stating to end the voice call first.
I installed the new update tonight and everything seems ok except for buttons. The volume slider does not work at all and the Windows button activates the screen alignment app....any ideas???
Wow, I'm a day in on the new software and I'm impressed!! Anyone else notice significantly better memory handling?? With my same usage habits, I haven't had to soft reset once, where it used to be at least once a day. My program memory is still 19mb available... it used to go to 8-9 mb by the end of a day.. Pretty damn cool. Also, my storage memory is much higher than it was, with the exact same programs and files!! Whats up with this!
Happy.
So I just took my XV6700 out of the box, brand new. No sync whatsoever with contacts etc. I am a previous owner of the PPC 6700. Charged the phone up fully overnight, left on cradle didnt touch. Did a soft reset this morning before I got started. Installed the Rom update package on my laptop. I also did my previous updates on this laptop with the sprint.
Step 1. soft reset phone, not one piece of software in it.
Step 2. Load update on laptop and flash
Step 3. Windows said hardware error on USB and Disconnected USB connection. Nice Ballon Window Notification /At this point the phone has been officially bricked. No screen, no hard reset nothing. I could however do a hard reset and get the Y/N but no screen at all. First I thought was backlight. Then maybe DSOD with memory card, but I remembered I havent installed my memory card yet. There is however the spacer from the factory.
Step 4. Bootloader mode "USB"
Step 5. Flashed with Rom Update. Back to normal.
I guess I am just frightened for customers that arent as savvy as the readers here and elsewhere. I dont recall this issue with the sprint rom updates, of course maybe its just random. Nevertheless, thank god we have a bootloader mode. My motorola razr v3c also has one of these which I have used a time or two when pushing altell sw to the phone and doing seem edits. Different handset/different forum.
Once, again.....thanks HTC for the bootloader mode. I have a feeling this update might get another real quick due to the upside down media player issue.
eyeballz on VZW -XV6700/Formerly on sprint -PPC 6700
What are folks doing with their SD cards during the upgrade? Do you remove it first? What happens to the data stored on it? What about the programs installed there? Does the upgrade first uninstall those programs?
I left my card in there, but it's probably more wise to remove it before the upgrade. The MiniSD card will basically untouched before/during/after the upgrade. Programs will not be removed and you will need to either remove or just reinstall applications over them.
