Downloaded it and installed it without any trouble.
But "push mail" from a IMAP4 account is not working, still need to press the dreaded "receive/send" to get msg.
Does the "push mail" only works with Exchange 2003 server?
Any insight/help would be greatly appreciated.
pus is only for exchange, imap or pop will still require manualy or timed sync'in g.
Can someone confirm you can still receive calls while the EVDO connection is active, after this update? It looks like this was an issue with one of the other phones.
Has anyone tried the A2DP hack that worked for the sprint AKU2 phones? I've been waiting months for that! Can't wait till i get home from work!

A2DP hack works!!! Using Jabra BT620s stereo headset.
EDIT: The UpgradeData.sbu file didn't work on my own device, so I am removing it from my post. Sorry for the inconvenience
For those interested in doing a restore after the ROM upgrade, here is the upgrade file for the new Sprite Backup. Just unzip it and save it to your Storage card with your backup files, run the uprgade, do the Restore in the Device Upgrade Mode, and point to this file.
Thanks to PDAPhoneHome for all the great info and help.

I have have screwed up using the GetUpgradeData.exe and created my own problems. I would like someone else to get the GetUpgradeData program from Sprite and try it on their device. If it works, share it with the rest of us. I just wish mine had worked, because I don't really want to have to reinstall the apps and tweaks.
If you try it, or need assistance finding it, message me here, MSN Messenger, or Yahoo

I would be more then happy to but I am going on vacation Friday and don't want to risk bricking it... All setup now to use evdo over BT to my laptop and if I can't do that I have to pay the hotel $12 month...
Would you run the GetUpgradeData program and send me to file to test? If it works, I'll post it for others. The file doesn't change anything, it just gets some settings from your device, and will work on any Verizon 6700.
We would all greatly appreciate it if you would be willing to help us out.

I had read the instructions earlier for this and doesn't it say to hard reset first and then run the program???
It does say they strongly recommend it. I didn't do it, so that might be where I messed up on my 6700. I had used a similar application from SpriteSoftware on my HP 4700 when the ROM upgrade came out for it, and it worked without doing a hard reset. So, in other words, no, I didn't RTFM

I kind of like the Voice Speed Dial. In fact, I"m going to try to get away from installing MS Voice Command.
However, there is a problem though. I can no longer get sound to work through my BT headset for use with other applications. Voice Speed Dial automatically shuts it off after it closes.
I'll probably open a separate thread for this.
Note from moderator: see this the following thread for a link to the solution:
Those with dead XVs, there were a few Sprint users who ran into this and there is a way to put the phone into bootloader mode and reflash. To my knowledge this fixed the ones with the issue.
If you search the Sprint upgrade thread you'll find the instructions...
