Nice. Would someone please post the .txt file instead of the .zip? I am mobile this weekend and for some reason the .zip files don't play nice with my 6700...

In case people forgot the directions:

-Goto the phone and type ##775# (##PRL#).
-Enter your MSL Number (6 digit unlock code)
-Follow prompts
-Browse to where you extracted the update file, select it, done!

you will need your msl code and its very easy to get, call sprint (*2) and tell them you want to reprogram your phone, the csr will tell you to enter ##******# the six digit code she gives you is your msl code, write down the six numbers without doing

OK. I have read some of the past threads and I am still a little fuzzy as to what benefits this has. I know that it updates the roaming towers and EVDO. But, does this fix the problem of my phone slipping into roaming in areas that I know it isn't/shouldn't be roaming?

And can this be done at a Sprint Store?

It's tough to say unless we get a line-by-line description of what exactly changed in this update. Maybe they added new towers nearby, maybe they didn't. It might improve your reception, maybe not. Same with evdo speeds/connectivity.

The reason most of us do it is

a) it's easy
b) there's not harm or loss if it's done
c) why not...only good can come from it. it's not like a rom update where something significant changes.

Can someone please repost as a .txt file? When I download the file in PIE, it downloads as 'attachment.php'...does me no good.

Thanks.

Not sure how to convert it as a .txt file. Will the unziped 20222.prl file work for you?

I just changed the extension of 20222.prl to 20222.txt

Hopefully that will work if you rename it back to .prl

You're quick!

I am not sure how comfortable I am in doing this for the first time. I am new to playing with my phone besides using the basic functions.

Can this be done at a Sprint store?

And thanks for your help!!!

Maybe.

I brought mine to a Sprint store--one of those big ones too and they could not do it there and told me to call tech support (I could not update past 20216 OTA).

There is no real way to screw this up. As long as you have your MSL code, you'll be fine.
