Am I asking for trouble (again)?

So, late last year, I walked into Sprint and bought a PPC-6700. I had some pretty significant issues and returned the phone within their trial period. I have stopped holding my breath for Sprint to release a Treo 700w. I have read that the latest firmware addresses a lot of issues, particularly EVDO reception and miscellaneous bugs.

Any comments or advice, specifically surrounding the following issues would be greatly appreciated.

1) Calls from contacts with photos stored on the storage card would make the phone lock up and I could not Answer (or even Ignore) the call. I have read that WM5 does not like contact photos or ring tones on the storage card??? I can live with that.

2) Seemingly; calls would not interrupt EV or 1X data; they just went to voicemail. Apparently, that is not even possible in EV mode, and 1X-call-interruption is configurable via some ## code???

3) I was using a BlackBerry and I spoiled by instant email. We use Exchange and nothing would make me happier than implementing DirectPush. I have only seen it work on Cingular-Edge and Verizon-EVDO devices, but I am sure Sprint-EVDO is no different? How does push affect battery life?

Anything else I might be missing?

Hello and welcome. If you can please try and search before starting a new thread (and title your thread in a manner that actually reflects the questions you have asked), it would really help me out a lot (see the sticky forum rules post for more information).

By searchng using the special method described in the sticky forum rules post, I was able to locate the following threads that directly discuss your questions:

1. http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...t=ring%2A+card
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...t=ring%2A+card

2. http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...o+ring+through

3. http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...t=battery+push

There is also a very large sticky thread on the ROM upgrade that discusses the issues it addresses and new bugs that it introduces- you may wish to read up on that for more information as well.

Because all of your questions have already been discussed, I am going to go ahead and close this thread. Hope that is ok with you.
