cannot find folders to do BT headset voice dialing hack for Verizon 6700

Hi Everyone,
Here's my problem... I would like to do the bluetooth headset hack listed in the tweaks thread and for some reason I can't find the folders where they are supposed to be. Using Resco explorer I find the Voice command files under microsoft.

Also when I install Microsoft Voice command it says you have choosen to install to "". and installation to main memory is preferred. I click install and everything works fine otherwise.

My question is do I need to remove all the VZW junk software, install Voice Command and then do the hack? I'm wondering if the Verizon junk software is giving me the issue of not being able to install Voice command properly and the reason I can't the files to edit properly.

Thanks!

Voice Command gave me that error when installing as well. Install to Main Memory and it will work fine.

Is it working for you without the headset right now? It seems like you're having issues with the software before trying to mess with the BT hack.

You don't need to do anything with VZW Junk. All you should need to do is install MSVC and add the registry values below:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"LaunchAPEnable"=dword:00000001
"VoiceCmdEnable"=dword:00000000
"Path"="\\Program Files\\Voice Command\\voicecmd.exe"

Soft reset and try it out. I don't think any of the VZW junkware should stop this at all. Make sure the registry setting at:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"Capability"=dword:00000037

Some hacks had that as set at 25, but it should be 37.

Hi hooya,
Thanks for the response....it works fine the way it is meaning I can hit the voice command button on the phone, tell it who to call and it transfers the call to the headset. I did unistall it and reinstalled voice command and when the screen comes up I tell it to install to main memory, it starts to install then another screen comes up saying "you have chosen to install to "". instead of main memory, do you wish to continue". I hit yes it continues to install. If I hit no then it cancels the installation.

If I go to HKEY_LOCAL_SOFTWARE_OEM there is no Microsoft Voice Command folder there.

Any ideas?

You have to create those entries in the registry.

And your installation seems to do exactly what mine did. I think the installer just doesn't understand the 6700's memory location names. Install it to main memory and even though it gripes about it like you said, it will work fine.

Make sure you add those registry values exactly. So you need to make the "VoiceCommand" folder, and they keys within that folder. After you soft reset what will happen is this: however you open the audio gateway with the headset (for me it's press and hold the button for about two seconds) it will turn the device on, open the audio gateway, and activate MSVC. You will hear the BTA Gateway open beep, then the MSVC bleep prompt in your headset, say your command and hopefully it will work if it can understand you. When you're done with a call it will close the gateway automatically. If you aren't in a call you can close the gateway using whatever method works on your headset (for me, again, press and hold the button for about two seconds).

Hope this helps.

Can someone make a good, small, locked sticky on this topic?
