i want the BT volume to get louder.... i have done the reg hacks for the handset and speaker and MSVC but i still wish my BT was louder...
JT, If you've done the AKU 2.0 update, then install the LARGER 'Tornado-A2DP' patch found in this forum. THAT will fix your BT volume issue.
For myself, it's just the screen in sunlight issue. Other than that, the device is a good all-around device. Not perfect in any one thing, but acceptable for most.

How many of you NEVER get the DSOD? Is this an issue with every phone or is it only a vocal minority?
That is my #1 complaint. It is inexcusable to have a phone with a systematic problem like this. I mean, the purpose of having a phone is so that people can call and text you whenever, not only when your phone mysteriously decides to not break. How can this be something that hasn't been addressed by the manufacturer?!?
#2 for me would probably be my phone's inability to keep alignment.
I love this phone, but those two problems (especially #1) are significant fun killers.
I like the WM5 critiques that daremo brought up, also.
I never get the DSOD. Let me know if you need information on what programs I have installed or reg tweaks I have enabled.
I only do a soft reset maybe once every 7-10 days, but when I do, the phone takes a while to boot up. I notice that pulling down the Start menu for the first time after a reset takes a long time too - maybe 5-6 seconds. After that initial pause though, it comes down instantly like usual. I know it has to do with the number of third-party apps installed, however only Magic Button runs on startup, and nothing runs off the storage card initially, so I'm not sure where the slowdown is coming from. That is really my only minor gripe with this phone.
Oh, and the camera absolutely blows, but I never use it so that's ok.
my memory card keep wiping itself. it's unbelievably annoying, and i'm not sure if it's a problem with the memory card or the registry or the phone or what...but my card is COMPLETELY USELESS to me if it KEEPS GETTING WIPED. i'm very frustrated with this, and don't know what to do. the worst thing in the world is needing access to program or attachment that i have stored on the card, only to turn the phone on to discover that *SURPRISE* IT'S NOT THERE
As I said in my previous post... I've charged my XV6600 and am installing the software back to it. I am probably going to sell my 6700 on ebay. The 6700 is just too buggy. I DO like the WiFi, but the rest I like better on the 6600.
Bummer...

Unquestionably, it has to be the crummy screen. My brother has a JAMIn and the screen is MUCH brighter--just fine in sunlight. I use VJLumosII, but "you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear". The occasional DSOD (much reduced by NOT storing e-mail attachments to the storage card) is also quite a pain in the a$$.
Somebody ought to find out who at each of the carriers should be directed to this thread (since HTC is basically inaccessible).
by far the worst was not getting calls. i almost returned this phone back (after wanting to throw it against the wall) last week because for 2 days i was missing calls. i would say that 90% of my phone calls were going straight to voicemail or ringing and then going to voicemail (of course my phone didn't ring).
i don't know why it was doing that...but my guess is because my phone would connect to an evdo connection for whatever reason and calls coming in would not interrupt. either way, i ended up applying the hack (where the incoming call will interrupt the evdo connection and ring the phone and then go back to evdo when you hang up) and everything works now.
i also applied the sci hack so that the phone actually rings on the first or second ring instead of the 3rd or 4th ring.
the phone should ship with these 2 things set up this way.
now i'm pretty happy...just the speed is a bit annoying but i found when i removed skype, the programs folder displays quicker.
Well, I'm back on my XV6600. I will wait until Verizon releases an update to the 6700 before I switch back (if I switch back).
See ya in the 6600 forum (for now, at least)

The ActiveSync issue isn't really that much of an "annoying 6700 problem" because it can be easily solved - you could go for a 3rd-party solution. Try MobSync (the older versions are freeware and work perfectly for me). You'll need to work your way through some Engrish, but it's not that bad.
