Best wired stereo earbuds with microphone??

What is the best wired earbuds with microphone that can replace the factory wired headset? I tried Seido's with the retractable cord and they truly suck. They sound like pocket AM radio earplugs for .49 cents. What a waste of $50 and these headphones are a total ripoff. They won't even take them back or exchange them for something else. If Seido doesn't step up here and give me a refund or exchange, then my company won't spend another dime with them. So to avoid a $50 exchange, they lost a corporate client. Nice move.

I looked at Shures I3CT's but they aren't stereo on the phone side. They have a funky dual cable setup. Does anyone know of some type of earbud or noise canceling headset that has decent quality, at least at the level of the factory headsets and is an earbud or noise cancelling version for airplanes?

Search the forum for "Wired Headphones" and get this result:

By the way, I'm not sure what the "factory wired headset is"... I didn't get any in the box with my phone.

Did you purchase these with your credit card? If so, contest the charge with your credit card company. I have had success doing this in the past when a purchased product turned out to be a POC (piece of crap) and the company refused to stand behind their product and give me a refund.

I forgot about the credit card dispute. Silly me. Thanks.

The 6700 came with a stero headset with micophone. If you didn't get one, go to a Sprint store. I went there yesterday and they gave me a replacement for free.

My Verizon 6700 also came with wired stereo headphones. They are very uncomfortable.

Build your own

Hi there. I apologize if my descriptions are bad as I forgot to take pics during the project. If you take the wired headset that came with your 6700 and open the silver box, there is very easy access to where the headphones come out. Basically, there are four pads for the wires to connect. If you desolder those four posts and resolder either another wire or, even better, a headphone jack, you now have any headphones you want at any time for free!!

I took the time to solder a mic connection as well. So I have a cable that gives me a (mono) external microphone port and a stereo headphone jack. They both sound great.

Thanks for the info on rewiring the phone. Unfortunately, that defeats the warranty. It's sad that nobody makes good headphones for this yet. I had so much hope for the Shure's.

I've had no luck either but I was able to find the equivilant quality ear buds from the sprint pcs store. The 2.5mm jack ears phones is not popular yet. It will take a year or so. Or you can go to utstarcom.com site and order the originals. They all average around $30.00 bucks. The problem I've had with others was not so much the quality but the button feature doesn't activate voice dial like the bluetooth ones do. But the OEM version will.

Radio Shack has a 2.5 male to 3.5 female converter. Doesn't work. Don't bother.

I may have solved my own problem. Stopped by Wireless Toyz and picked up a bodyglove headset. It had the funky over the ear thing but you could detach them and they go inside the ear and provide good noise isolation. From there, the audio quality was better than the factory headset and these things are half the size. The headset was $39.95.

Best Headset for 6700? NOT Blue tooth

My 6700 came with earphones that fit into the ears. The sound is great, but these hurt my ears. Does anyone have a brand and model of some comfortable headsets that will work with the 6700? I don't want the blue tooth wireless, and the headset must be stereo because of some of the wave files I use and of course it needs to include a microphone so that I can still talk on the phone.

Hey, Until I got my 6700, I use an Audiovox cdm8900 that came with a nice little accessory package. The headset, probably the best and lightest that I have ever used was the Verizon Plantronics headset with 2.5 mm jack. I ran a quick ebay check and here is a link to a current auction of one;
