Plantronics Discovery 640 comes with a miniUSB charging adaptor!!

My model came with a Mini USB charger adapter in the box as one of the four adapters! Anyone else get this? I ordered mine from newegg.com for 68 shipped. This was a pleasant surprise as I wasnt looking forward to spending 15 bucks in addition to the price of the headset to buy the charging adapter.

I've had it for a while and love it. I actually have to turn down the volume quite often- not something you hear about other BT headsets.

Sounds like they got smart! I paid extra for my adapter But I've had the 640 since January and LOVE it. Volume continues to be great, the ear-fit is fine, and it's certainly rich with accessories (that I don't use or need).

I've had great experience and am very pleased with the plantronics 510.

Plantronics Discovery in general (and 645 in particular)

From the messages posted i this topic, it sounds like the headset works fine with XV6700. However, some retailers' websites claims that XV6700 doesn't work well with Discovery headsets. I'd like to buy it soon but additional assurances from the forum readers would be great.

Whoa...I don't think I got the mini-USB adapter (bought back a couple months ago) I'll have too look into that...

jhipts: the 640 works great with our phones. never had an issue. It's a great small, lite and very loud headset. Couldn't be happier.

Mine came with the charger...

Now I finally carry only one cable and two "ends" (car and wall) to sync and charge my phone, and charge my bluetooth GPS and headset. Much better than three wall chargers and three car chargers that I used to carry in my briefcase!

Are you using the new rom or the old rom. My BT headset is not anywhere near functional after the upgrade. I have a sony 662. Thanks for the info.

I bought my 640 months back when they came out. I got it from a Cingular store and it had the mini-usb adaptor in it.

It does work after the upgrade, and it is loud, however I have switched to the Jabra JX10 some time ago. The Plantronics is just not a comfortable fit for my ear, and I seem to get better voice recognition using Voice Command with the JX10.

Static from the 640

I have the 640 and love the volume and the way it fits in my ear, however when the phone and the headset are more than 3 feet from each other, I get enough static for the conversation not to be heard. I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem. Previously I had a Motorola HS850 and was able to roam around my apartment without any interference.
