Camera problem - everything has a purple tint

I have had my phone for a few months. I noticed a problem last month when I was taking pictures some pictures while golfing. Prior to that event I hadn't used my camera much, but my wife claimed she noticed a purple tint when I sent her a few picture mails. I have tried chaning all the settings, and nothing has changed. Here are some pictures from today.

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Well they look over-saturated for sure, and the hue is off as well.

Go to your Camera, click on the options, do Tools/Adjust, and reset all of those values. I bet somehow your Saturation and Hue settings are all out of whack.

Rennyn,

Thanks for the quick reply. Unforunitly it that was one of the first things I checked. They're all set to five. I also tried tweaking all off them, to off set the color.

Anything else?

Yeah after playing with those in photoshop, it looks like there are some definate problems, but it is hard without a color base to go off.

I wish I could help ya more. A hard reset might tell you if its a hardware or software problem.. Hard resets aren't too bad if you do a full backup first though with Sprite or similar.

I'd see if anyone else has any suggestions first though

Thanks for trying to help.

I have been thinking about doing a hard reset anyways, so maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow afternoon when I have some free time.

Thanks, but I've tried that as well.

I'm worried its going to take a hard rest, or even worse, its a hardware problem.

Hopefully you have insurance If not, get it.. wait the waiting period, and get a new phone! hehe

If it is a hardware issue that is, unless its still under warranty.

I never got to doing a hard reset. I did search around a little more on this and other forums along with more trouble shooting, but nothing.

Any other ideas out there before I do a hard rest?

I don't think that applies to VZW customers...only for Sprint phones which had two different Sprint logos.

Yes, it looks that way in the preview.

Ugh, its sad, but I really don't want to replace this now. I love it, I finally got the shield on correctly, and my software is exactly where I want it.

have you tried the free beta of coolcamera?

while the color on my xv6700 is not purple like yours, mine is of a reddish tint (so simmilar anyway). With coolcamera the colors are great (well it's not like my Nikon or anything, but definitely better than stock).

The free version has two drawbacks:

1) only 5 seconds of video for recording - ludicrous...

2) no button to turn on our flash - I use vjCandella to turn it on and off manually (highly recommended ap for this device - makes a great flashlight).

This is an old thread, but still a new problem. I downloaded coolcamera, and no go.

Anyone else have ideas before I exchange it? I really don't want to pay the 55 bucks or go through the hassel of redoing the next ppc.

FWIW, mine does the same thing outside, and I read a review of the 6700 that had the same issue. I'll bet its pretty common.
