I have had my phone for a few months. I noticed a problem last month when I was taking pictures some pictures while golfing. Prior to that event I hadn't used my camera much, but my wife claimed she noticed a purple tint when I sent her a few picture mails. I have tried chaning all the settings, and nothing has changed. Here are some pictures from today.
Well they look over-saturated for sure, and the hue is off as well.
Go to your Camera, click on the options, do Tools/Adjust, and reset all of those values. I bet somehow your Saturation and Hue settings are all out of whack.
Thanks for the quick reply. Unforunitly it that was one of the first things I checked. They're all set to five. I also tried tweaking all off them, to off set the color.
Yeah after playing with those in photoshop, it looks like there are some definate problems, but it is hard without a color base to go off.
I wish I could help ya more. A hard reset might tell you if its a hardware or software problem.. Hard resets aren't too bad if you do a full backup first though with Sprite or similar.
I'd see if anyone else has any suggestions first though
Ugh, its sad, but I really don't want to replace this now. I love it, I finally got the shield on correctly, and my software is exactly where I want it.
while the color on my xv6700 is not purple like yours, mine is of a reddish tint (so simmilar anyway). With coolcamera the colors are great (well it's not like my Nikon or anything, but definitely better than stock).
The free version has two drawbacks:
1) only 5 seconds of video for recording - ludicrous...
2) no button to turn on our flash - I use vjCandella to turn it on and off manually (highly recommended ap for this device - makes a great flashlight).
