possible to USB tether in Macintosh OSX ??

Do these exist anywhere? I haven't tried the bluetoof methed for tethering cause I know the bandwidth wont be acceptible for my work. Has anyone gotten USB tethering to work with a mac?

So far it seems BT is our only hope, and even that didn't work 4 me. Do a search for "Mac DUN". Good luck....

XV6700 used as USB modem in Mac OS X

I have a Verizon XV6700 and I am trying to use it as a USB modem on my Apple iBook (OS 10.4.6). I would prefer to use it as a USB modem for the speed, but if Bluetooth is the only way that's fine. I have been searching this forum, plus others, and have not found any help as far as setting up the XV6700. Everything I have found for the Mac has been the Sprint PPC-6700. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could either give me step by step instructions or point me in the right direction on how to set up the Verizon version on my Mac for either USB or BT. I have successfully set up my phone as a USB modem on a windows machine, but would really prefer to have it linked to my Mac. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Send a message via ICQ to myneid

first do a search for bluetooth dun
there is a secret way that you have to turn it on on teh phone. there is a post in this forum that tells you how.
then just add the device on your mac and dialup networking should be an option for you to choose on your mac of the available services.
You cannot use USB tethering, i assume for the same reason that markspace cannot get usb sync working. you can only use bluetooth.

as for me, when i did it i found the results unnacceptable. slow connection that dropped all the time and froze my phone.
instead i purchased the kyocera kr1 which is a wireless router that you plug an evdo pcmcia card into (which i already had) that solution works a lot better. if you need more info on that pm me and i will send you to the right place.

how do I use USB DUN on the 6700 with a Macintosh Powerbook w/ Missing Sync 2.5 ??

I just updated from alpha to beta and now can link via USB cable. Does anyone have instructions on how to DUN through USB to a MAC Powerbook laptop.
