I have been tring this out for a few days now and think I like it. all is working great for me. I have had none of the problems others have had and think I might just buy this one. price is good. still in review. I have just uninstalled my spb pocket plus which I used mainly for the pie stuff and I'm enjoying the 4 megs of extra memory. time will only tell.
1) AE Button Plus is a program that allows you to re-program you hardware keys, and more importantly, add up to 4 functions per key (one tap, two, three taps, long hold). I highly recommend it.
4) SPB is nice and although it is large, you CAN remove/uninstall 90% of it. I've kept the PIE enhancement and SafeMode bootup.
5) PIEPlus does give you 'tabs'
1) Thank you... for the AE Button.. i might download it..
4) I dont wanna buy SPB Pocket Plus if im gonna end up removing 90% of it lol..
5) What is 'Tabs'??
Im going to download the demo version..
thank you.
If before you installed PIE+, you had your regular PIE in "full screen mode" by default (I did) you won't be able to get the address bar, etc. to re-appear.
while this is a nice enhacncement, IE really needs to be able to push those buttons on certain websites like yahoo mail delete.
It also needs to be able to acces a high encription site for banking and online payments.
I got onto a high encript site and paid my parking ticket with opera.
Dunno if netfront can do this, but IE cannot.
Dunno if this pie2 plus addon would help at all...
Is Opera another Internet Explorer? is it good? does it have good features like PIE+.. even though PIE+ is broken for me.. im gonna try doing that registry fix.
Oh by the way. thank you for the fix.. I did fix it..
However i think im going back to regular PIE heheh.. this is too complicated for me..

tabs are when you can have multiple web sites opened in one instance of internet explorer (more important in the case of PIE which cannot open multiple instances) and there are tabbed headings of the pages that you can click to change between them

honestly instead of getting a browser just for these purposes, i use www.logmein.com to access my desktop's browser and do it from there. for some things PIE is quite good but others it's easy enough just to use my desktop + i know how and where to look for the info on my screen so it's a breeze
i'm not interested in another browser or enhancement until netfront 3.3 with java comes out...then i'll give that a try.

I've loaded PIE+ a few times and the soft buttons (Back and Menu) don't work. These are key to using the 6700 one-handed. Is there a setting to enable these? Without the soft keys, the browser is severely hobbled, IMO.

Define "don't work"? do you mean you don't see them or you see them, but they don't respond?
If you dont' see them under settings, one of the tabs has a setting that says "enable WM5 softkeys". I don't believe it's enabled by dafault but you just check that box and you'll be back to normal, you'll just have PIE+ menu items now to select. In fact here is a screen shot:
They're one and the same. You just enter a reg code.
But what we're talking about specifically is that you have a 14 day "trial" period. After that 14 days if you have not uninstalled or bought the program, you'll notice your PIE not working anymore.
Not a huge deal, just uninstall PIE+ and maybe run MemMaid to be safe. but some users don't realize that it's only a 14 day period and/or that their time is up and then start having browser issues...
Once it's bought, the program behaves pretty well...nothig catostrophic will happen.
no, you are correct, I've seen others have this problem of a craishig PIE endlessly when PIE+ expires. Really nasty.
I'm so sorry for the problem. I found out this problem a few days ago. This issue only occurs on WM5. We'll release a new version as soon as possible. Everyone will be able to use 14 days trial of the next version even after the expiration of the current version.
I uninstalled it too..mostly for the reasons already mentioned:
could not address bar to re-appear no matter how many boxes I checked/unchecked, it just never came back. couln't even get it to shift between full screen and no-full screen, just stayed full.
There is a known issue with Version 2. If you install PIEPlus 2 while PIE IS IN FULL SCREEN MODE it will not ever display the address screen. Under the support page it has a REG fix or you can unstall PIEPlus and make sure the PIE is in regular display mode and reinstall!!!
I had the same problem on my MDA and checked the support FAQS of their site!
