Initial Synchronization - really slow, normal??

I'm a new owner of an XV6700 and I'm synchronizing Outlook with my desktop for the first time using a new partnership and ActiveSync 4.1. I noticed synchronization is horrendously slow. I have about 6500 entries in my calendar and it's been over 30 minutes.

Any ideas? I'm connected via the included USB 2.0 cable. And I'm not syncing directly to the Exchange Server (which I know should be slower).

I also have an iPaq 5555 and that connection is with USB 1.x and it's not this slow.

Thanks!

Set to only sync the past 2 weeks. I had mine set at "all appts" (years worth) and it took an eternity. After I set it to sync the past 2 wks, it took ~ 2 minutes the first sync.

I need it so sync all of my contacts. I also noticed the driver it installs is basically a USB network card, which is somewhat odd to me. Anyone else notice this?

Almost 2 hours just to sync 6000 Calendar entries. This is a joke!! Is there an updated USB driver I'm missing??
