change ringer for incoming messages? poor reception? how do I check my hotmail email?

Helllo ..
Im new to the PPC-6700 and to the forums.. I like this phone.. gonna test it out a bit more (have 14 days to return).. i have added BetaMVP, bought a 2g stick which arrives on friday.. and i got some Emulators/roms on this bad boy.. (dont worry its legit.. i own all the games)... ok well.. anyways..

I am not too satisfied with the internet.. it hasnt been working today, it was working yesterday fine.. but the webpage says "Cannot be found" and stays on 'Locating'.. Also the reception on this phone is ALOT worse than my (8300 Sanyo).. from Sprint. that was a real beauty.. that phone had AMAZING reception.. I am not geting reception at all in my house with the PPC-6700

I got a few questions, so..

1. How can i change the ringer of Incomming Text messages?, and Voicemails, and Incomming calls.. i can only see changes for Main ringer.. I must be going to the wrong options..

2. The Reception bar never has any bars.. even on US-1 i get like 1-3 bars(i Live in Miami) which normally on my other phone it has full Bar.. anyone else have this problem?

3. How do i get to my E-Mail.. (Hotmail is what i use) i went to www.hotmail.com and i type my L/P and press enter and nothing.. my cousin tried signing on his too with my phone.. same problem.. it takes you back to the log in screen... hmm.. any suggestions?

Well guys overall i love this phone.. just still not 100% sure if im gonna keep it.. But i do admit its amazing.. i mean.. no need for a laptop anymore.. So if anyone can answer my questions especially question #1 and #3 that would be great. thanks

#1 - Start - Settings - Personal - Sounds & Notifications - Notifications - Event drop down box

#2 - My reception is about the same as my previous phones (all Samsung).

#3 - Start - Messaging - Menu softkey - Tools - New Account [then follow setup instructions]. This will give you Outlook style email, rather than webmail. Much better!

Hello and welcome to the forum. If you have not done so already, please take a moment and read the sticky forum postings rules message, it contains a lot of good information for people new to this site. In particular, you should pay special attention to the sections on titling your thread and searching. The thread titles are important because that is how threads are organized around here. Thus, if someone did a thread title only search for hotmail, your thread would not be listed in the serch results. People are also much less likely to even click on your thread with a title like your original one. As a new member here, you should also be aware that most newbie questions have already been answered several times thus you should always search first before starting a new thread, no one likes redundant threads. Thanks!

You can indeed set up email the way described in post #2. When you put in the email address @ hotmail.com, the Pocket MSN will launch automatically. in essence, its the same, but you can do it the way described, or just jump right to it by running Pocket MSN, as the referred thread describes.
