possible to get a Clear All Email Message Button??

When I am in SMS I have the option to go to Tools and choose to "Clear all text messages" and it will do so with just one click.

I am wondering if there is a reg hack for this to be displayed in the Outlook tools area so we can simultaneously delete all emails in the inbox as in the SMS?

As well as another thing: when the email notification bubble comes up on the screen when a new email arrives- instead of it saying, on the right soft key "Dismiss", if we can reg edit that to say "Delete". That would be wonderful.

Thanks all.

I'm going to be working in that area in the next couple of weeks to write an application that will let me force my deletes to synchronize to the server. I'll try and keep these suggestions in mind, but I don't know how much would be possible without a large effort.

When I delete my messages on my phone it already deletes them on my server. I'm not talkin about that. I meant on the phone itself just like we can do with the sms.

BTW, what email account type are you referring to? I have an Exchange 2003 account that I have set up with activesync wirelessly. It pushes all of my email to me, and I have other accounts forwarding to it. Unfortunately, when I delete email in that account, it doesn't delete it from the server. I sent the admins/support reps an email about it and they said it wasn't possible. I'm curious if it is a server setting or something that just isn't supported with an Exchange activesync profile.

In any case, the app I'm gonna write is to make sure the deletes from my phone are forced onto the exchange server. Is this the type of email account you have set up or is it a pop/hotmail/other account?

I have my gmail account setup to forward to my exchange server. My phone is setup for Direct Push so all my emails are instantly sent to and from my phone. If I delete any of my emails on my phone, in Outlook, it will then immediately delete it from my server inbox.

What I want is this- except what you see pictured is the sms inbox tools options. I want the same option for my Outlook Inbox. There is no app needing to be written. This would simply be a reg hack of some sort.

It could possibly be a registry change, yes. On the other hand, if the application isn't written to be flexible, then another application would have to be written that would work with Pocket Outlook. Just changing registry values doesn't cause things to happen. The applications have to be written to recongize those changes, and if Pocket Outlook isn't coded to look at a registry setting for that particular feature, then it won't be possible with a registry change.

Interesting, so your exchange server is sync'ing the deletes. Hrm, maybe it is a server setting but the admins won't change it. I'll have to investigate that more thoroughly.

No- remember your server isn't syncing the deletes. Mine has and always has been, as I have previously stated, been fine and doing this.

Again this is not a server thing. It is on the phone only- in the Inbox.

Go right now into your Outlook Inbox(on the phone) and click on Tools.
You will see a grayed out line that says: "Clear Outlook Email".
All I want to do is activate that so that it does exactly that.
That is what the SMS tools option does and that is what I am trying to figure out on how to do in Outlook.

I understand what you want to accomplish and I agree that it is simply a function within Pocket Outlook on the phone. I was referring to the fact that the reason my emails aren't deleting on the server may be a server setting even though the support representatives said it wasn't possible. Thanks for the insight on how your setup is working. I'll look into a clear all button...in the meantime, you do know that you can select all the emails using the stylus and then click the Delete menu item. It isn't as quick as one menu selection, but it is quicker than highlighting each and hitting delete.

Thanks again for the insight!

Oh yes I know about the mass highlight. This is what I have been doing, however I would love to have the Tool Menu option available since I know it is there, but just not activated.

Hope someone can find a way. I know it is probably pretty simple.

I would be interested in an app that deletes email on the server if deleted on the 6700. However, I'm using a POP account.

One of the annoying things about the 6700 is that when you delete an email on the phone, it doesn't keep a record of what got deleted. So, the next the 6700 connects with the POP server, it gets ALL the email on the server. I end up having to wade through all the emails again. For right now, I just mark all as read and later when I get home, I connect using my home computer which deletes the email.

At the very least, the 6700 should keep a record of what got deleted so that it can hide the deleted ones.
