call quality using 6700 internal mic is horrible, anyone else??

I have been told that the sound quality on my 6700 is horrible for those I'm taling with over the phone. So I called my work voice mail to test this out.

I found that talking on my 6700 without the ear bud sounds awful! Its not too bad when I use the ear bud though...

I haven't seen much discussion about the quality of the 6700 as a cell phone. Is this just the way it is? Should I be using a headset and being done with it?

I do have the insurance...does this get me a new phone or just a refurb'ed one?

Thanks in advance!

The standard mic on my 6700 is fine. I use it by itself a lot of the time, though I do tend to use my bluetooth Plantronics headset if it is charged.

I have never had that complaint. It is MUCH clearer than my Treo 650. Not as clear as the cheapo Nokia 6016i I had.

Get a Plantronics 510. People tell me the sound quality is great.

I've used the phone as a standard headset too and I haven't recieved any complaints, but I admitedly don't use it very much.

Once you go BT you never go back.

Yes, I have the 510 Voyager. It is fantastic. I've had many headsets in the past, both bluetooth and regular. I even had the Jabra BT800 (the one with caller ID) which I hated. The plantrontics one is awesome. I noticed that it is the one they use in 24 (the TV show) the other day.
