Start menu lag and caller ID sporadically not working

Ok, so two problems i've been having with my ppc-6700. The first is sometimes when people call the screen will turn on and the phone will ring but nothing will show up on the screen. It shows the little phone icon in the top toolbar but thats it. usually when i get a call a box will pop up on the today screen that says incoming call or it will display the caller id info but occasionally it won't show anything. I can still answer the call but i have no idea whos calling or what number they are calling from. Anyone else have this issue?

Another issue thats been happening pretty commonly lately is when i click start to bring up the start menu the toolbar changes colors around the word start like it usually does when you first click on it but then the phone does nothing for 30-45 seconds sometimes even longer the whole phone just freezes up. has anyone experienced this issue?

Both issues just randomly happen, sometimes i can do a soft reset and it will fix the problem and sometimes doing the soft reset doesn't fix it. It seems like resets have nothing to do with it. i've searched and wasn't able to come up with any solutions.
Thanks for the help, stephen.

It might be possible that your 6700 is slowing down. Try Pocket Hack Master, it'll overclock your processor.

Google it.

The 6700 doesn't need to be overclocked to resolve these issues (overclocking could possibly introduce a whole other set of issues), it is perfectly capable of correctly displaying caller ID and the start menu reliably and quickly without being overclocked. The problem is likely a conflict with some 3rd party software. If the original poster really wants to figure it out, best bet would be to start from scratch and add the software back over a period of several days to see which one is causing the problem.

i'll give the starting fresh thing a try. only apps I have installed are a few games (that I never play) and the beta version of agile messenger, which works great! all of these are installed on the memory card though not on the phone itself, not sure if that makes a difference or not. and i'd rather not overclock my processor, i've heard some bad things about doing that.

thanks for the help,
stephen

Bump. Same thing's been happening to me frequently, but only the first time after a soft reset. I hit the Start Menu and it takes quite a while for everything to show. Anyone know what's going on? I don't have any plugins or fancy things -- just a few programs installed. Cheers.
