no Verizon data plan, what will be charged for MMS??

There's a thread sort of about this but I wasn't sure if it was close enough to be in the same thread, so forgive me if I should not have started a new thread.

With that said:

I have no data plan. I don't live in an EVDO area so it's really not worth my $50 a month to have unlimited data with Verizon. I assume that I have the pay as you go service.

I don't have any pix or flix message package, so I pay per use on that as well.

I know that if I attempt to send a pix message that I will get charged the message amount, but since I'm not in an EVDO area will I be charged for data as well if I use the #777 server? From what I understand there is no other way to send MMS messages with our phone right now (even though my wife's phone sends pix messages with no data plan since she has an E815).

If I have no #777 server set up can I recieve pix messages from anyone else at all? What am I charged for recieving a pix message if that's the case. What if I do have a #777 server set up (but never turn it on for $ reasons)?

This board usually is very helpful, I hope someone here has concrete answers to my questions.

I am pretty sure that MMS falls into the "data" category, so yes, if your phone EVER connects to #777 you will be charged. I haven't examined vzw's plans enough to see if they have a video messaging option, but if you don't pay for it you will definitely pay for it (in more ways than one) at the end of the month.

Just to add, someone recently posted that they were selling their 6700 because he/she was paying too much for video mail (paying per msg), so I think its safe to say you will suffer the same fate...

I was afraid of that. I just was hoping to be able to use picture messaging at the rates I'm used to, but it looks like I can't.

What about recieving pix messages? Is it even possible?
